When i was diong my joiners apprenceship many years ago there was a lad from the council doing his also.
Part of the course was building a section of spiral starcase.
Dont know how he did it but he managed to hit his tongue with the hammer. 😯
My sides were aching with laughing. 😀

worked construction i don’t know, 25 years ago, kid that worked with us was nailing the top plate( that’s the long 2×4 that ties the framed wall sections together at the top) with an air nailer. the 2×4 was a little crooked so he leaned forward to push it over w/ his left hand. when he did, he put the nailgun down on his thigh, his finger was still on the trigger. we took him to the hospital with a rosin coated nail punched through his femur. it split the bone and was poking out the back of his thigh. came to work the next day, the boss had 7 brand new 22 oz. framing hammers, no nail gun. i wanted to throttle that kid.

There was a guy a my job that cut his fingers off with a skillsaw he was hold a 2×4 a nf wanted to cut an inch off the board . This was his job he cut wood every day . So yeah some people a morans

that was the impression that i got from the vid too… he actually thinks he can keep that machine from doing the one thing its designed to do…TURN the chuck….IDIOT

I set and watched a guy run his finger into a ban saw blade, went about 3/8″ into the top of the finder and lnto the nail he was holding the material down and pushing it with. I was like 😯 😯
And another one i did not witness, just saw the after math, i young guy maybe 18 , 20 , was working for a local small machine shop, he ws cutting flat stock on a large shear , you know the older models that have a foot pedal to activate the machine , well this guy slid a piece of flat stock into the cutting area, and had been doing this half the day they said, and proceeded to cut at a angle all four of his fingers off, just under the second knuckle on the pinky, to about 1/2″ down on the first finger.
Man he had steele pins running everywhere. they saved his fingers, but his hand wasn’t very pretty afterward.
That guy is so lucky thats all that happened to him.

Sub if you watch the video I had to go back and watch it, number one there is nothing in the chuck so I have to assume he is trying to loosen up the chuck! but if you watch his left arm it slipped off the T handle! all the lathes I have run the same terminology applies lefty loosey righty tighty he was going the wrong way to boot!!! 😯 😯 😯
The guy messing with the chuck, (the operator), needed supervision and instruction. That’s why we call them students. can we say “Darwinism at work”???? I work with a guy who isnt much smarter than that….. Maybe i can get him to try it…. 😈 😈 …. On second thought that 14″ chuch wouldn’t even hesitate at taking his leg OFF and I dont wanna clean up that kind of mess….

I could not even imagine how you would hit your tongue with a hammer. Not sure your tongue should be down there while you are hammering, haha.
