Great info Kinfemaker!!!

Tom Gaylord mentioned Sheath as a pellet lube on his blog somwhere. It sounds like Break Free CLP and FP10 are the dog’s bollocks.

For our purposes, You are probably correct. My shop is here at Ft. Hood. The worlds largest military base. Our soldiers were having problems with their fully Auto Arms in sand land. They were using mostly CLP. The combination of fine grit in the environment. Dust storms, and the high heat inherent in full auto weapons were playing havoc with their weapons. The thicker grease used to lube the actions was totally useless. They (The department of the Army tested many different lubricants. FP-10 had a attributes none of the others tested had. Mainly that the carrier evaporated, yet the lubricant in FP-10, being of the newer Bucky ball technology, would permeate the metal surface of the actions. And bond on an molecular level. It actually penetrates hardened steel! The only gun lube that can do this. It worked and is still working in theater.

As a side benefit, It has the highest salt spray test results out there. A good thing for us. And finally, If the bore is thoroughly cleaned and degreased, before appliccation, It will protect against fouling, and in our case leading, and bore corrosion longer than any known simple oil. It actually burnishes into the micro structure of the bore. You would have to lap, and hard chrome the bore to do better. Not bad for something out of a bottle! Mike

I use Sheath to lubricate pellets and by extension protect the bore. Is this a bad idea? I think Tom Gaylord recommended it in the DVD.

In the Airforce DVD, Tom Gaylord recommended Break Free CLP to lubricate pellets. In all honesty, it is the same as FP-10. I say this because I use both … nothing special about one over the other; they both do the same job effectively in cleaning my S410 ERB and Condor’s barrel.

FP-10 for me inside and out.

FP-10 is leading technology. Highly favored in the shooting sports. Pyramyd, and Cabalas both carry it.

I’m not sure what online dealers sell them, as I buy them locally. But you can do a search online. I am sure there are alot of online gun shops that sell them. Try http://www.midwayusa.com or cabela’s as a start. Good luck!
