Q:

We need a better Trigger Guard!

I am going to design a better trigger guard for the Airforce Rifles. I made one for my self as you all know and love it. If people are interested I will make some available. I want to design them so I can keep the cost down and yet have a nice looking sturdy trigger guard instead of the flimsy bent one on the guns now.

The new trigger guard would also allow a large knob to be put on the safety which will eliminate a lot of sore thumbs.

So what Say You!? Is anyone interested ? Or I’m I alone in the thought the AF Trigger guard sucks!

If there is an interest I will make some up and post a pict here.

i for one would love an aluminum trigger

Did not get around to making a trigger guard. I was working on some WOKBUTTS for the members here.

Now how many would like an aluminum TRIGGER? I think I have a design worked out. I will give it a go in a couple of days and see if it can be produced on a large scale for everyone to have one.

You had mentioned a safety release knob, how about something like this…

Thanks, I’ll take that as one heck of a compliment that it is suggested on this thread 🙂 for possible use by one of the “greats”. I am waiting on a new lathe/mill next month and this was something I figured I might offer here if there was interest. But by all means use the idea, anyone.

Imitation is the most sincere form of compliment

Hey Wok…

Is it possible to design the trigger guard in a way it will allow us to place the fore arm rear of its original positon, using the screw hole from the trigger guard?

The trigger guard is a bit tight 1/2″ from the upper rail and only 1.5″ long in the midddle for the finger. The foregrips i’ve been doing are closer to 2″ long for the finger and 3/4″-1″ from the upper rail for a more comfortable trigger finger position. I’ve found these dims to be fine in that they don’t detract from the trigger area of the AG. I’ll try and post some updated pics later. Another consideration is to round the front area of the trigger guard, like the walnut foregrip below. WOK will have to decide what is easier to fab with his setup. The foregrip below is made with the dims above, I think its still balanced. Bad lighting though.

I think this is a quite exellent idea Adam. The trigger quard is definitly needs a upgrade. One thing… good you make it where it has a bit more clearance at the bottom? Don’t know about you guys but my trigger finger rubs to hard against the bottom of the stock gaurd when shooting, and I’ve adjusted the trigger as high as it will go. Just a thought that comes to mind.

I’ll be damned, The endcap is plastic? I never noticed. I suppose I would have eventually after buying or making a shorud. I’m interested in a new trigger guard and safety. Any idea what the price will be?

Yes, the Condor’s endcap is plastic. But it’s though plastic, though. But I still want something that’s made out of metal, preferably aluminum. The same goes for all the other plastic parts of the gun minus the pistol grip and the forestock; for these I want a one-piece stock.

I am going to see what it will take to get something made and then I will post a protype here.

As for price the design will have a lot to do with that!

You know I’m a sucker for custom bits….. count me in.

count me in that looks great

i second the need for a trigger shoe…cold metal would feel much nicer.

I am going to work on a couple of designs this weekend and hopefully have something that looks good and is affordable. It might not have the exact lines as mine but we will see what I come up with.

I was not aware the end cap for the Condor was plastic. That would be easy to make and as for the trigger. I will see what I can come up with.

Adam, yes, the Original Condor endcap is plastic, unlike the TSS’s which is metal. But anyway, all you have to do is let me know when you can fabricate the parts I’ve mentioned.

Oh yah, I’d be interested in a trigger guard too. By the way, WOK, I’m liking the WOK butt I got from you. Man, if you can only make a trigger shoe, a cocking knob, and the endcap for a Condor – as these stock versions are all plastic – I’d be set man. 😀 What do you say to these requests? 🙄
