Q:

Three calibers for one rifle?

.177, .22 and .25?

Is this possible? Plausible? Feasible?

If so, which rifle configuration? Talon, Condor?

If not, then will two work well and if so which combination?

Thanks,

Paul

Yes. However, a modded talon valve could handle any pellet. My modded valve shot .25 31grain kodiaks at around 900fps.

So, if I understand correctly, the Condor tank (whatever the difference is), isn’t necessary if the Talon configuration (Talon tank with modified valve) is employed.

How is the valve modified and what is it modified to do?

Okay.

So is the difference in the tank capacity or valving, or both?

If I understand correctly, .177 and .22 with the talon setup (and heavy pellets) and the Condor will handle the .22 and .25 will handle heavy pellets in those calibers as well. Is this correct?

Thanks for the help.

well if a talon valve does 40-45 fpe with a .22 24″ barrel, i would think the .25 24″ barrel would do slightly more…45-50 fpe with same og slightly heavier pellet

my modded talon valve throws 42grain EJ out at 830…about 64 fpe

so dumping a .25 long barrel in an SS i think would do fine….stay away from the super heavy…but kodiacs should be able to do 800+ fps with a stock valve, and thats good enough for a nice trajectory.

I have two that was setup by Tony/TalonTunes. One in .22 and .25cal and the .22 can be used with the Talon tank on my Condor, and the pellet will stay under supersonic. I have not tried the .22 barrel, but I tried some lighter .25’s with the Talon tank and I got zero supersonic shots. I really think the .25cal setup will stay on my gun, and I see no need for the .22 setup. I think a rig setup for .177 an .22 would be a better low power combo.

I’ve got 3 barrels for my TSS, .177 and .22 12″ and a 24″ .22. I think .25 might be a little heavy for a stock Talon valve, but the other two work great. If you’re dead set on .25, either get a Condor, or a custom valve. I have a Blodnob valve in mine, it would easily handle .25, but I just don’t quite see the point.

Approximate power with the various barrels and a stock valve would run 20 fpe for the 12″ .177, 30 fpe for the 12″ .22, and 50 fpe for the 24″ .22. Hope that helps.

Anthony266 can set that up for you, and if you ask nicely he’ll probably do the pink as well, give him a pm.
