Those with a stock Talon SS
Awaiting the arrival of mine, just curious from those with a stock SS in .22 cal, with a full 200bar fill, how many shots till refill with the gun dialed to max and dialed to minimum pressure settings ?

Adam,
Thanks for the link. I hadn’t seen that before.
Recently got hold of valve stem which I believe is the same as used on the gunpower. Stem came from the UK. It has a small ID up in the ports area. Dono what it will put out in fpe with a talon set up. Maybe/probably someone else has tried this and knows what sort of shot count one might expect as well as fpe ❓ I assume it will be somewhat similar to gunpower ❓
I need to edit here.. Measured the stem and it fits a condor ❗ Thought there was something different about it 😆 😆 😆 0.250 OD
That’s OK I can put it on the condor,, except I have loaned to a fellow for a while,,, figures… None the less it is a metered stem so it will be interesting..
I keep seeing that .22 is more air efficient than the .177. Can someone please explain to me why this is true. It seems so counter intuitive.
Thanks!!

I figured you might want to know.
Denskin is a legend in his own mind. He has reported 100 shots at 30fpe and no one has ever been able to replicate…EVER….Not even him! Why has no one been able to replicate it? The answer is simple and obvious.
On the other hand Blackops reports 300 shots as the lowest of power and yet Denskin doubts because he does not believe he could replicate it. Well no one can replicate his findings either.
On the other hand the Gunpower stealth shooting on low power in the U.K. is reported to get 300 shots in .177 and 400 shots in .22 by Black Pool Airguns and many others in the U.K.
Exactly, 100 shots at 30fpe that no one else has ever been able to replicate. No matter how many details were given no one has even come close to those numbers.
Whereas people with HPA in England get 300 shot from their rigs all the time with low fpe.
Look at Blackpool Airguns

Low/lowest power plinking cans in 12″ barrell in .22 I was getting around 300-350 shots before the power was really low…I had to make POI adjustments gradually and turn up the power wheel but as long as I could hit the cans at 40-50 yards I was happy. Cranked to full power it was kinda scary as it cracks a little the pellet blows through the can blowing up some dirt/rocks and the goes whirring off into the woods…huge contrast to the little puff it makes on the lowest power…oh yea I had baffles in mine…the rest was stock.
Love the SS, Jim.
Nice looking rig! Wow!
Hi guy…
Did your Talon arrive yet. Just for thought I bought a Talon SS .177 cal to start with and it shot with beautiful speed and accruacy! I probably shot about 50 to 70 shots with the power setting at around 7 to 8 with a 200 bar charge.
Lot of fun to shoot righ out of the box. I could group 7 rounds in a dime at 40 and 50 yards. When I would fill my tank I noticed it had according to the meter on the scuba tank about 1000 psi in it.
So After looking at some of the fine work by Anthony 266 I decided to ship him my rifle and let him install a cool custom recoil butt on the tank. Jewel my tank and trigger screws. Rebuild my Hammer and rebuild my valves. And a nice long shroud to quiet it up.
To say the least I was very pleased. I also noticed I get a bit more for my tank charges now too with the tighter tolorances from Anthony’s machining.
Anthony also made me a cool custom 21″ Lothar walther barrel in .22 cal.
I almost forgot that part. I really like the gun before the modifications and I enjoy the hell out of it set up the way I want and currently what I am doing now in .22 cal.
Power speed and accruacy!! Shoot your new Talon a while and see what your shooting needs my evolve too.
Weather you plan to modify things or keep it stock it is a winner all the way around in my book! The main thing I was after was quiet with my modifications and Mr.266 did an outstanding job. You would not beleive all the noise it doesn’t make now. If you need any help with any of this stuff my experience has been very nice here at this forum. Here is my rifle…
Take a peak..

What is your tophat set at to give good power and lots of shots.
Mine is stock TalonSS
I dont have a chrony yet
Thanks
YN, at full power what is your tank down to after the 30 shots? I rarely count my shots because of the chrony but when my fps drops to around 800 I refill and my tank is around 150 bar.
Trigger….. for me its around 70 on low(ish) power power and 30 on full power before I have to start taking poi shift into consideration. I havent done any valve modifications or anything and I’m sure they can do much better.
You can get way more shots if your only going to shoot short distance or plink

Mike…. Let us know how that works out for you…. you know I’m interested 😉
I reckon I’ve got mine ok….now. Not quite as many shots as I’d like, but good velocity on it.
Good to see you around.
