The T.U.R.D Coming !
Just a pic of the Tactical Utilitran Rifle Design striaght from the Voleworks design dept. This is what ive come up with …. 😕
Its .177 , 15 round mag , collapsible stock , AR grip , pump action , shrouded , 70 shot regulated and at 70cm long.
I wanted to design a gun for the guys who do ” Ratting ” as its known over here ,so its a small take down type gun to shoot rats in barns. If i get the drawings finished in the next couple of weeks the first prototype should start soon arfter on my mates new CNC machining centers .
Ive been drawing on Auto CAD for weeks , and im now experiencing the joys of learning 3D CAD ( for this and my CNC mill).
So i thought id see what you guys like / dislike because its not going to be for sale in the USA …hehe !. 😀
So what do you think !

As far as selling this gun in the UK that would be ilegal as far as i can see 🙁 , its abit of a grey area ? making one for anyone in the UK would have to go through a RFD .
The folding stock is the one thing that bothers me more than the fact its a pump and i could see me fixing it in place . Having a 11lb pistol would be bad news over here !

Buba…you make it, it goes thru an RFD I know before it comes to me….
I can’t see that being an issue
Right…we have that issue over here with sound moderators…whether for airgun use or powder burner use….
We do have some states that allow sound moderators, but you have to fill out a form, and send in your $200 “TAX” fee and then you may legally own one 😀
The Skan was orgainaly a pump on the forend but then changed to the pistol grip pump , some say to make it legal. There is a point in the Firearms law which states about the cocking action must not be foward of the breach ( its along time since i read it ! ) but and this is the grey area , Firearms and Airgun law , ie below the 12lb limit are differant . In theory you can not use Firearms law on FAC Airguns and the pump action or semi auto are not covered as ive read it .
Question is do you want to mess with the law to find out !!!! .

There is an airrifle called the SKAN which is sold in the UK and is pump action loading with a rotary magazine.
Im sure it is legal
Dave
Chop it up!!!! 😯 😯 😯 😯
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo 😥 😥 😥
Then cocking force is fine in the breach , its just the drag and the fact that the forend tilts slightly when you cock. . This acts as a slight brake on the cylinder which is a result of bad design by me . Ive moved the forend forwards on the weaver rail and its not too bad. I think if i designed the from the start in Solidworks i would have moved the cylinder further down allowing me to have a bearing surface that gose completely round the cylinder. Because i made the cylinder too close to the barrel shroud i had to split the nylon bearings in the forend.

Very unusual weapon, please do NOT chop the gun 🙄
Buba
move the cocking forward to between the first barrel band and the action on the pup…miles easier to cock while shouldered. Make it biathlon style if you can.
Make 2, i will have the second off you for sure…PM me as im dead serious.e
Regards the pump action, I am pretty sure its OK, I have seen another pump action (cocking and indexing) and lets not forget FX do one where the pistol grip pumps doing the exact same thing.
The ONLY grey area is the folding stock…make it take down and not foldable and you will be OK.
Please do NOT chop the gun up…if anything consider selling it once you know its legal.
Its working but not as well as id like , took forever to make the forend , with me finaly getting **** off with the Hobby CNC driver and replacing it with a Gecko G540. The Hobby board just didnt have the power or smoothness , the Gecko is in a differant ball park both price wise and in performance 😛 . Im now thinking of making a gun completly on the CNC and hopefully getting better tols than i did with this one which was done part manual and part CNC.
The gun cocks and index,s well but ive still got abit to much friction while pumping which is down to an alignment issue which i think i can fix.
Stll got to complete the knock open pin , in the vid you can just about see a blast of air from the side of the gun and remake the fill valve which is leaking for the O-ring ( i cocked up on the groove …dohhh! )
As far as the LDC i havent got any petals in yet as i havent got any shim steel but im going to try some fiberglass sheet ive got which will be springy enough. At the moment i dont think its that quite but i havent played with it much.
And then im going to chop it up into small bits 😯 , ive got too many guns and theres a slight legal issue with pump action guns over here . I think its legal but i wouldnt take it any where out side the house as im sure the law would take it away and i dont want to be a test case in the courts of law.
This is the one im thinking of making the “T4 Evo” ( the Ruskies will be along shortly to slag me off lol ) 12 shot , .22 , side lever , have to see if i do as im also about to make a Gibson LP guitar copy ( yep another copy as i havent the time to come up with something original 🙄 ) when i find the time.
Buda,
Have you finished the gun yet?
Btw did you use the petal valve design silencer?
regards,
Marc
sorry mate he,s giveing it to me lol
damn! that’s a one good looking airgun. will give it to me for free? 😆 😆 😆
realy nice finished product , one of the nicest home jobs ive seen , inspired me alot to see the whole start to finish ,
[/quote]For your next gun consider using the Crosman Maurader Magazine.
Yeh that the magazine design i was going to use as its now out of patent , i also got given a Solidworks file of a 15 shot version by a guy on the Talks .ru forum called Crowkiller ,had to find his name as ive lost his email ( before anyone from the Russian site hold me up for ripping off a design and not giving credit 🙄 , even thou i didnt use said silencer for my design ).
As the text says on the pic the reg was made by a guy called Igor ( i gave him credit did you see ! 😯 here and in the original post …WoW ) and he made a post on the BSA forum.
http://bsaog.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=912.0
The reg is unvented which means if your crap at machining or get it dirty it will stick and you will crap your pants . By the post Igor made ( another credit to a guys post i DID copy ) he got it working but ive been told by Tench on the BSA site ( another credit 😀 ) that he had problems getting the bearing to seat on the O-ring . He said the problem was the bearing crushing the O-ring and the bearing then getting stuck in the O-ring but i havent got as far as building so cant coment any more than that.
L8r all 😀
P.S All this crediting TO THE RIGHT PEOPLE takes alot of time … have no time to make anything at this rate !

Hey guys…@Bubba: Did this ever go semi-auto? Chasing ideas for blowback cycling, mag indexing and pretty much anything else I can read to fill my profound knowledge gap… Cheers all.
