i picked up a used cf scba tank on ebay with a fresh hydro test for a little over 100 bucks if you keep your eyes open they come around once in a while
when fire dept get a new budget they usually upgrade after several years and a lot of the old tank end up on ebay
also check out this link
http://www.hamcontact.com/airgun/HoseAssembly/
the deals are not that bad
here is another link look all the way at the bottom they have some used cf tanks for 100 and 150 but they might need a hydro test

I picked up a used Sherwood 80 cf, 3442 psi from a member here in pretty much like new condition for $150 shipped, and that included a clamp. It was what I could afford at the moment.

Triggerman, if you ever decide to sell the larger carbon fiber on the cheap and with plenty of hyrdo look me up. You could save shipping. 😉

carbon fiber is all well ang good if your carrying the tank with ya…im not for the most

i got a 130 cf 3500 psi tank and it has alot of full fills, but it is steel which is heavy as hell, its long, so it not nice to carry…this tank stays at home at all times !

i got the luxfer 106cf 4350 psi tank….and it holds about 8% more fills than the large 88cf 4500 psi carbon fiber tank…it has more full fills than the 130 cf tank by far….

when i was at the hog hunt i got to see a bunch of carbon tanks and they are really the thing to get if you plan on bringing them along anywhere….

before going carbon fiber check the place where you can get it filled…if they dont fill to 4000+ psi forget about it…go for a large 3500 tank instead

Just gave Tim a visit today to stock up on some pellets. Right now he’s got a Airhog 88 cf CF tank that looks new for 500 bucks… includes carry strap. Sure wish I could afford that right now. I think brand new they’re well above 500 bucks.

keep in touch with Mac1, he gets several used one in at a time and they go quick….. he is where my 44 cu ft 4500 tank came from, the other tank is 4500 psi CF 66 cu ft and came from Joe Brancato on the yellow classifieds.

quote Triggerman:

It’s your money, but if recommendations mean anything, I’d consider going with Carbon Fiber. That scuba tank is 33 lbs empty. I have one CF tank that is 11 lbs and one that is 14 lbs. The scuba fills to 3400psi, both of my CF SCBA tanks fill to 4500 psi each, meaning Lots, Lots more fills before top-off time over the scuba tank. Your scuba tank is $315 and one of my CF’s was $225 and one was $100.

Just my 2 cents.

Hey how did you get those great prices Triggerman? I wish I could find 1 like that 😀

get a fiberglass tank from airhog a litle more but higher presure
