talon ss cal .20 co2
hi guys…i have a modified talon ss LW 20″ .20, 85 gram hammer and other stuff, i already ask for a co2 valve to pyramyd air…and the question is, i get 1010 fps whit jsb .20 using HPA, what numbers would i get using co2??….remember the barrel is .20 cal and the pellets weight 13.5 grains
thanks…

Thank you…didn’t expect the little rifle to shoot that well (and it will do a bit better when I’m really benched in and not just testing pellets).
There is a forum for RWS850 addicts:
http://www.network54.com/Index/84463
I’d probably not get too heavy into modifications, but can recommend the .177 version for plinking/targets/pest birds. Can change springs and get the power up a bit, as issued the .177version is a 730-740fps gun (with 7.8gr. pellets).
The guys with .22’s only have two complaints. Smooth feeding can be a problem with some pellet shapes and some types of pellets are very loose in the little circular magazines/clips.
The tech. section of that web site is pretty good at showing how to convert it to 9oz. (along with a lot of other mods.).
wow…those are very good groups…at your experience, do you recomend this rifle (850) on .177 ? i want it for plinking most at all…
how far can this gun shoots ?
The RWS 850 is amazingly accurate (at least mine in .177 is)…really didn’t expect it to shoot as well as it does. Stock, will get about 460 shots per 9oz. fill (are 252 gr. in 9oz. and the gun uses about .55 gr. per shot….so about 458 shots). His tuned gun must be squirting out a lot more co2 per shot; he might want to back off a little and see if he really loses any speed.
Found that with the Talon SS and it’s 12″ barrel, could adjust the power up and not see any real increase in velocity. Would release more co2 with each shot, but it wasn’t adding anything to the speed of the pellet, just making noise and cooling the rifle. Now that the temperatures are warmer, can adjust for more speed, but there is still no good reason to adjust past “8” with the 12″ barrel.

This was a pellet testing target with the RWS 850. 75 consecutive shots…no “calls” or “do-overs”. Was only shot at 20yards, but it does illustrate co2’s consistency. Even with 5 differnt pellets, with weights from 7gr. to 10.5gr., the point of impact didn’t change very much at all and the WORST group was 1/3″.
[quote=”ribbonstone”]Very nice rifle…the stock is outstanding.
Am another co2 / 5mm fan, but my rig is pretty close to a stock SS. They are very consistent over long shot strings. Day to day temperature variations will move velocity up or down, but on any day can sit behind the trigger and shoot a 100shot string with less than 1.5% vel. variation. I get bored with numbers, but would guess if shot at the same pace, could shoot a 500shot string (assume you use a larger 16 or 20oz. co2 bottle) with the same results.
Simple 5mm Talon SS, running on a 9oz. tank to give scope alignment, sitting next to an RWS850….that 850 has sense been converted to 9oz. tanks as well. Does give you a good sense of the length of the little Talon.

let me take a pic to this and post it later ok…
I’m not trescuervos, but you might try a hot soldering pencil. I havn’t done it but it sounds like a good idea.
Nice looking set up you have there. Can I ask what do you use to put the hole in your pellet holder (the part that you are sticking the pellets in)?
done…

the 120th i´m very glad!! this one was the latest shoot i coud check in the chrony cause it was geting late and there wasnt enougth ligth but i shot til i get tired! lots of shoots!!
50 mts (55 or 60 yards) group whit jsb exact .20 on my knee…it can be better using the bipod…
this co2 stuff is great, and i only ask why i didnt buy this valve before???

sorry, i studied english at elementary school and that was so so long ago! 🙄
Haven’t heard of many people with that setup. You might have to run some numbers when you get your adapter and let us know.
