yeah, it will be quieter. you’ll notice the biggest difference at the high power settings. it’s not mouse fart quiet, but it’s hell good. you might want to check out the hammer slap mod too.
Well I got ahold of tony and told him I would like an 18 inch .22 barrel with vented bushing, and an 8 inch shroud. Does that sound like a good combo to you guys? I will get a full tune in a few months when I have enough cash, so for now it the barrel and shroud. Do you think with the 8″ shroud and an 18 inch bbl. it will be quieter than a stock ss?
ive been play’n around with my gun. i just got a chrony but i havent had time to use it yet. where i notice a HUGE difference with my talontunes gun, is the higher power settings. the thing is insanely quiet compared to how it was before the mods i put on it. it still needs a good tuning, which tony is going to do after i get my airwolf mvt (gotta have something to kill pigeons)
I spoke with Tony today, and he is about 6-8 weeks behind. so expect to wait a bit. just keep calling him until he answers. seems to work okay. 🙂

How quiet do you want to be also costs.
I thought my own shroud setup was good, then I made it better, then I choked the $$ for a TalonTunes shroud and found out I wasn’t even close. My 70ftlb .25 SS makes maybe 1/3 the noise that the stock .177 SS my buddy just got. 😀 😀 😀 😀
There’s two ways you can go about it. Do it all at once and be done with it, or a bit here and there. Some folks are restricted by budget, others are DIY’s. If you have the time, talent and resources all of the work can by done by yourself and you’ll never have to pay anyone. Adding an 18” barrel will give you ~90fps. But in a TSS you’ll need to shroud it to stay quiet. Lots of options, just depends which direction you take.

Sotxguy, I really would like to get all those things done, but i really don’t want to send my gun in and have to wait 6 weeks to get it back. I only just got it like a week ago. All I would like is a little more power ~100 fps, its already quit enough as it is with the springs, O-rings, and fender washers. I know if i get an 18 inch bbl. it will be way too loud for my backyard.
Bikin, you got to call Tony(talontunes) and ask him, prices vary and every case is different. He’ll work with you. He is busy, so expect a wait if you want work done by him.
6” more barrel ~90fps, Valve stem bore ~50pfs hammer slap mod – nil. Heavier hammer 10~15fps? Vented bushing and shroud 70~80% muzzle reduction.
A little here and a little there. It all adds up to a custom rifle over time 😈
How much did all that work cost you? what length is that shroud? lol a couple more questions. Did you send your gun in to get it worked on, or did you get the stuff made and put it on yourself? If you sent it in, how long did it take?

18″ barrel w/ shroud is okay. w/ the hammer slap mod, same power settings it’s a bit quieter. im guessing the pellet is moving faster because of the longer barrel, but i dont have my chrony yet to prove it. (waiting for pyramid to ship)
i’ll let you know the fps results after i get my chrony. i’ll try it with both barrels at the same power setting.
ironbrad, nice gun. I was thinking about getting a 18inch barrel with shroud because the 24inch barrel with shroud is getting pretty long. How is the sound level compared to a stock talon ss?
