Q:

Striker weight

I am looking for somewhere or someone i can buy a high flow valve and striker weight from. Or could i just install a heavier spring to get my talon ss to shoot right with a high flow valve?

The washers mentioned above if placed between the hammer spring & striker move with the striker, acting as a heavier hammer; placed between the spring and power wheel, they only add preload to the spring, kind of like being able to turn up the PW to 15 or 16 instead of the max. 12 on the gun.

So I could add the washers instead of adding the striker weight?

you are too fast for me mike. he had no replies when I started typing.

If you are comfortable working on your tank/valve yourself, AF sells the current cONDOR valve upgrade (the guts of the valve) for about $50.00 which you can install in your valve body. You can get a heavier hammer from TalonTunes or add a couple machine washers (1″od x 5/8″id) between the hammer spring and hammer (increases sprung weight of hammer and adds preload to hammer spring). A modded talon valve should get you about 100fps and a condor valve/heavy hammer should get you about 150.

Don’t forget in the airgun world VELOCITY is not king. ie if your favorite pellet is Kodiacs, majority here seem to like 950fps for best accuracy; if you are already close to that then power modding will only hurt performance (accuracy) 😀 The goal for hunting would be maximum pellet weight & velocity for the caliber WITHOUT SACRIFICING ACCURACY.

Happy shooting.

52,
You can get all the parts at AF. They have a full parts bin now 😀
Course as discussed before you can also buy a second tank. Anyway the valve and extra weight can be picked up at AF. When you get the weight radius the OD edges a little, polish them up.
