Q:

Still unclear, mounting a Harris…

I’ve got one on the way and I need to figure out how I’m going to mount it before it gets here.

Obviously I want Solid, but I also want it QD if at all possible.

Am I correct it comes with both stud and Barrel mounts?

I was thinking Swivel stud with dovetail but have read that for some reason that doesn’t work?

I don’t want to drill the forearm.

Ideas?

So basically drilling and taping the bottom rail for a swivel stud should work fine? No stripping the aluminum?

Thanks Anthony.

To get Vlady’s bipod installed, I took the straight sling swivel and threaded it 10-32. Then drilled and taped a hole in the bottom rail.

Sorry, no pics.

Yeah, I did what Adam described…

Except for the mount, I payed $1.99 on eBay (wouldn’t feel good sawing a good mount…).

Worked very nice… very solid!

This is how I would do it. I would buy this mount for $16 and mill, grind, file or whatever off the rings. Drill and tap the mount and put in a QD swivel stud. Then spray it black and mount it to the lower rail and put on the Harris Bipod. It would be rock solid and removable. Very custom setup for a few bucks.

Harris does work with a QD swivel stud.
