The LCD was an idea from a russian site and works quite well ,thou i would like to make one with some sound deadning material to see if its any better. 😯
First fitting of the top rail ,bit of a bugger to machine and learnt plenty about how not to do it.
The trigger group fitted , the shear assembly is made from steel to be hardened later with a brass trigger .Still got to fit the pins and test the shear against the hammer when loaded on the spring. 🙄
The mock up of the trigger group with trigger gaurd in place , finaly got the screws to fit this , so should finish soon.
Got a 400cc bottle from a logan s16 , like the fact that its shorter in length
and DIA ,give s me more to play with when it comes to the stock and adjusting its length for comfort. The stock has seven adjusting positions for hieght and will be clamped by 2 screws between the bottle hole and adjusting bar. The first 2 pics are for mock up only.
Reduced the size and made it fit mu shoulder better by rounding it off, bit lighter too. Was going to make it FT style but i would like to go hunting with it ,so when for a more solid style.
This brings us upto date Blodnobs kindly helping with the valve ,so all i need is some time ………damit 🙁

If the top rail had worked it would have looked realy good 🙁 , and no i didnt think about powder coating Adam , but it could be an option. The bloke who did it for me is going to sell me some acid and dye so i could make a new top rail at some stage .Think il live with it for the moment just to get the gun together and not glue it place until i make my mind up what to do with it. In the mean time im struggling to get a divers bottle as theres a shortage 🙁 bottle orders are years in advance and they didnt think about PCP being so popular ……….damit
That is fantastic. Have you ever thought of having those parts powder coated? I bet there is someone over there that can do that for you.

NICE JOB!!! I’m really starting to appreciate this gun! I have an offer to trade my HW 97K for a Gunpower Storm, maybe I’ll trade it. Love my S410 but I can’t design new pieces for it and the Storm would be perfect. 😈

Back from the anodisers and its mixed news 🙁 , the tube and trigger group came out quite well and im happy with them but the top rail which was made out of the same plate as the trigger group has alot of markings in the anodising. This is because of the scrap plate i used ( lesson learnt ……Dohhhh! ). Its a shame but apart from painting the top rail i cant think of any thing that will fix it 🙁 . Apart from having ago at re-anodising or make a new rail ,anyone got any ideas! .Its a party weekender for me so il get back on it in the week. Shaky pics of it mocked up as i wanted to see how it looks …………..dam nothing ever gose right ! 👿
Yep Voltar ,theres an art to anodising or should i say knack , once your got it ,it s easy! hehe. Ive done alot of reading on it but i only want to do the small stuff , the tube was just to big. Ive only got a small shed for this and not enough room for all the tanks and acid to kick around 🙁 .The trouble is the plate i used was scrap ,so im not sure of the grade , so i dont know how its gona anodise . If it looks bad then il paint or cover it in camo tape. Would have tried duracoat but we cant get it here :(. For the next gun im gona be more carefull about metal choice , but this gun is only a learning curve protype. Cant wait to get going on the next as its gona be easier than this dam thing ! 😀

I fiddled with setting up to do anodizeing a couple years back. The acid we were using is battery acid we bought from an auto parts store.
We took apart a 12 volt battery charger and rewired it to provide 24vdc by using the full secondary voltage into a bridge rectifier.
What I recall is that only 6061 will take the anodize, black is purple unless you get the expensive dies, other colours work well oh yes we used Rit Dye for the colours.
Getting and maintaining the electrical connection to your work piece and the cathode/anode plate is critical and a major pain. I found a circuit to make a ‘sput welder’ IIRC for this very thing to weld a piece of aluminum wire to the work piece.
May have to reconsider doing this again.
BTW no smoking as liberal amounts of H2 are liberated!

Shes at the anodisers finaly 😀 . Had to try 3 places as the first 2 wouldnt look at it ! one of them said it would cost a minum of £100 s to even consider doing it 🙁 . But in the end i got a firm to do it for £60 not including the LDC thou 🙁 cost £17.50 for each dip in the tank and i would of had to have 5 to do the whole gun . The LDC was one dip on its own so had to go!. But on the bright side he said he would sell me some acid and dye so i might be able to anodise it myself. The bloke there was realy helpfull and didnt crap himself (like the other two ) when i said it was an airgun (and about the blasted finish which there all itchy about). I think all they hear is gun , and im f****d form there on! .So it will be two weeks at least before im back posting. It will be black /grey but at least near compleation ( maybe! ) 😀 hehe

The SS part came out pretty good and the strips act as a grip textured area, looks cool in silver………hmmm ! Just need to rub down some areas on the other bits and re blast, got to get this bit right or it will show through. As far as springs ,Rabits gave me 2 , one standard and the other about twic the poundage ,but im gona have to play when i get it all together. L8r all work calls again 🙁
