Something I found useful…
Recently I needed to re D-load Chairgun and noticed on that same page they had a Mil-dot range finder program…Well I wanted to see how well it worked, and it works great! Once it’s setup proper you can range anything you know the size of with a quick slider bar…It’s to goddamn easy…Recently I actually measured a specific range two ways…First by using a gps by making waypoints and averaging the distance..It told me the distance was around 50yds which just didn’t seem right. Next I tried using google maps..came up with 46yds, Ok maybe it’s true? So I broke down and measured the distance very recently and came up with 30yds, which is what it “looks” like to me. So I knew the actual distance when I got this program, set it up for my scope and used it to estimate the same distance..31yds! The difference between 30yds and 31yds on the program is only .02mil, and I definitely can’t read that .02 with my bare eyes but it gives me a super easy way to range things now…But Ratter what about when your in the field? The program also let’s you print out your own custom range estimate reference chart! Obviously if your serious about your ranging you should get a laser rangefinder, which Im going to do eventually, but until then cheap old me is doing it old school…Plus it helps that my cheap ass scope is called “Master Sniper” 😆 It makes me feel ninja like 😆 😆
