Simple Shroud
This wasnt made for an AF rifle, but the design is exactly the same as one I would make for a Condor with minor differences that I’ll explain as I go along.
Machined an end cap and two bushings. Bushings are to hold the shroud on the barrel so everything is concentric. I use two bushings – one at the start of the shroud and one at the end of the barrel giving me the most distance between the two which will make the bore of the barrel and the washers line up more accuratly.
In a Condor shroud the frame lines everything up and you only need 1 bushing at the end of the shroud to stop the insides coming out if you remove the shroud from the gun. You dont even really need that, but it makes it easier.
I used finish washers as they have that nice cone shape. I’m not as patient or as good a machinist as most of the other guys here who have lathes so I cant be bothered making those nice cone shaped baffles.
Condor shroud would have a lot more springs because its longer, but this shroud only extends a few inches past the barrel so it just has one large chamber followed by washers and o-rings until I get to the end of the shroud.
I havent drilled the set screw holes yet, but thats pretty easy and anyone who owns a tap knows how to do that.
