SILENCER FOR CONDOR
GOOD AFTERNOON! I ACQUIRED A CONDOR 5,5 RECENTLY And WOULD LIKE TO KNOW AS TO MAKE A SILENCER FOR IT. GRATEFUL! SACI

No, I only have the foam on the
outside. I tried gluing some on the
inside, but if I turned the power up
past 45-50 fpe it would work 2-3 times
and then start to tear and blow out
of the end. I just put it on the outside
to deaden the metallic ping that the
thin wall alumimum tube produces.
It’s a small ping, but with the foam
it’s hardly noticeable.

RiffRaff, would you mind posting a few pics of yours and explain what makes it work?
Thanks, JFK
CW, I have no doubt your silencer works very well. Do you still keep it below the sonic barrier?
My extender works great until I break 1060fps, then you can hear the pellet crack through the air.
I too bought the inner hardware from ACE. Very cheap replacements at 30 cents a pop.
I use rubber washers, and I found if I take a razor blade and slit the washers a little bit near the center hole, I get even quieter. It can only be described as “mushy” in my baffle stack.
The only reason I used carbon fiber is because I can. Scrap tubing is easy for me to get in small quantities. I would be very happy otherwise with a car muffler on the end of my Condor. 😉
cw, are you running pipe foam on the in side?
That’s funny. When I built it I didn’t really
consider aesthetics other that it had to be
very dark and non-reflective.
My main objective was to make it as
quiet for rockchuck removal as possible. Any noise
at all will spook them and they all dive in to
their dens. With this setup I can pick 4-5 of
them off at 70-80 yards before the dive whistle sounds.
Plus, at under $5.00, it is very cost effective.
If I clip a baffle it’s no big deal as they are only
$.40 at any plumbing or hardware store.
It clips on and off in seconds and is very quiet
at 65 fpe.

Yea you are right. I really didnt mean to criticize it, it just looks very large from that angle.
Compared to your beauties it is but an ugly hag though!
love to see these hand built mods, and to get it down to just a hammer click, brilliant, that gun is built for the job it is suppose to do,killing animals quitley and eficiently, its great

That’s an awesome looking silencer. Very ghetto, which is great!
out of plumbing parts. E-mail me for details. It is very quiet,
even on full power. Just a hammer click. One of the keys to quietness at full power is that you need a lot of chamber volume (66 cubic inches at least). I made another one out of fiberglass and epoxy resin that took quite a bit longer to make and cost 12 times more. It weighs a third
as much.

Jesus harold christ! That thing is way overkill, LOL. You can honestly do a very good job with much less IMHO. 😆
I made my own. It cost me $4.75 and 11 hours to build one

It adds 16″ to the overall length of the gun.

If you are looking a silencer for Condor then check that the reference you are looking for is designed for condor.
Just got my condor yesterday and realised how much more power it has compared to standard Talon (or SS). The sound is incredible. Attached my talon silencer which is VERY quiet and it did NOTHING in condor.
But then again. Talon was set to shoot with 33J and Condor shot 60J with factory-settings. The air usage is likely 4 times more with double power.
THANKS A LOT. SACI
Nice to have you.
We don’t teach that here. But our membership is world wide and members have posted what they are doing to keep the guns manageable. Take a look at our quick reference section to see what members have done in the past. If you don’t find what you need just let us know.
