back in the days in the factory who was in charge knew a little about what they where doing and produced some great guns, career 707 mk2 being one of the best
but then new management came to, and they where out to cut corners to save a penny
one of the tings done was to start using plastic in the valves, this plastic however is not suited for this application , and will sooner or later begin to leak…its not a matter of IF but WHEN
These plastic valves also cut speed about 100 fps, taking the once great power made by the mk2 of about 80 fpe into the 40-60 area with the newer versions.
the sumatra is allmost a clone of the early careers, but has retained metal valving, they are both comparable in accuracy, and finish, power is better on the sumatra which is in the 70+ fpe area
the new onetube careers might have changed a bit in the valving i dont know them yet so i cant say
Yes
the old Careers are the best. The same company who imported and reworked the old Careers is now importing the Sumatra’s.
My Sumatra .25cal carbine is 80fpe. 12 high powered shots.
