Q:

Scope Mounted NV Monocular without the neck pain

I got my SS back together after finishing up the Condor valve with parts I ordered from AF and putting the nice and shiny aluminum vented bushing from Anthony266 on my 12″ barrel.

Easy to get around the inherrent problem of the eyepeice being too far back when mounting a monocular behind the scope when you use a Talon and Trilrail.

There is some flex of the scope when pushed down, but that doesnt seem to effect the zero.

Grey wouldnt have been my first choice for the pipe coupler… but it was provided with the Monocular 🙄 .

I never tried it, but when I used to switch between a dedicated NV Rifle scope and a dayscope they were always within a few clicks.

I’d expect sliding to be pretty close or even closer, especially if you use stops so it slides back and forward to the same point.

With the NV Riflescope âž¡ Dayscope setup I used a laser to check the zero and would just line up the crosshairs with the laser on a tree 30 yards away each time I made the switch.

grey whas all they had….

YN does it hold zero if you slide the scope back for day time use ?

The monocular was borrowed from a freind. The freind supplied the coupler, which is just a plumbing fitting purchased from a hardware store. I dont know of any regular monoculars that come standard with some kind of coupler, just a few british ones designed for scope mouting and they call them “ad ons” when they come with a coupler (and cost a fortune).

Monocular was purchased from http://www.nait.com – its an NVPS-10

where did you get the monocular? do you think any mopnocular will come with the peice to attach it to the scope? that a great set up.

That is freaking slick! Going to setup my rig like that!

HUGE thanks for the tip…yet again!!!

Jim.

Riffraff,

it works great. You just place the front of the monocular at the point your eye would be if you were using the scope normally. Takes a bit of trial and error to get the right point, but once there its nice and clear image. Then you just look through the NV monocular as normal.

Crimson,

No, the guy I’m borrowing the NV from supplied the coupler, He got it from a hardware store for a few kr/pounds/dollars.

Pretty cool!!

The tri-rail this way doen’t look bad at all!

Does the NV came with the coupler?

I didnt know something like that would work.

It doesnt mess up the eye-relief of the scope?

Pretty cool, guess asking if it works isnt necessary.
