Removing Teflon Thread Tape

I stumbled onto this the other day and wanted to share with all you crazy fellow machinists.

I removed a pipe fitting that was thread taped. Usually, I’d spend time unwrapping and fighting the old tape to clean it up. This time, I grabbed my air blower and I was amazed at how quickly it took off the tape. I had to turn it a few times, but when I was done there was no sign of tape ever being on there!

Give it a try next time. It works great!
