Protected birds list

Found this list of protected song birds and migratory birds that are Fedarally protected.
http://www.fws.gov/migratorybirds/intrnltr/mbta/mbtintro.html

The site linked below has a very nice search feature for various countries, states, species, cases, etc. Includes searches for nuisence or dangerous animal laws too, so it is not a one sided animals come first site.

The Common Grackle!!??? Are they kidding! They are about as pleasent to listen to as fingernails on a chalkboard! And, they are everywhere! Just as common as the ever present protected Robins.
I hardly see why they need full protection either.
So much ammo, and no targets….

So thats where they all went … must be the better weather …..little barstards….hehe. Maybe theres a business opportunity in shipping House Sparrows to the Uk …….LoL

Yep, we’ve got all the English sparrows and starlings you’d ever want. Come take ’em back.

Blue tits? Is that the female equivalent of blue balls?

Buba,

I have your house sparrows here. Thousands of them. They are everywhere in California. 😉

Whats comon today could be rare tomorrow ! as a kid i remember flocks of House sparrows bickering in the back garden , be lucky to see 6-8 at a time today, Thrushes feeding on the back lawn ……havent see one for years ! Starlings treated as a pest but no longer today , Blue tits and Finches all seen less 🙁 . As a hunter you should be resonsable for todays hunting and the future of the sport. I would never shoot song birds as its against UK law but also there something that brightens my day , weather in a flock or not . I remember a noob telling everyone on a UK forum about his kills , Blackbird , Jay and a Seagull with his new airgun , needless to say he was ripped apart on his post. Teach him to read up before going hunting .
Once its gone it will be hard to get back…… 🙂

Yeah I was just reading a post about the Grackle being protected on the Yellow, although it seems things still may vary depending on where you are. http://www.network54.com/Forum/79537/message/1206709392/They%27re+protected.
