Q:

problem with air blast in face.

Hi guys I’m having a little problem, I have a shadow with 24″ .25 using a 100g hammer and a blodnob valve. When I load gun and pull the knob (hehe) sideways fires fine, but when I leave it in the middle I get a massive blast of air in my face why? The reason y I want to leave it in the middle is the tophat moves as I turn the breech back to centre and adjusting the power and my poa but leaving it in middle doesn’t spin it. Any thoughts?

Can’t one piece the blod valve really. How do I get it doubled up?

Maybe time for a “one piece” top-hat…? you can also have your breach double O-ringed at both ends. It tends to seal better at higher FPS, at least for me it does.

It is clicking thought it might be orings they are 90 duro aren’t they? I know nothing about orings and alike do they come in different sizes or is that the size? Many thanks WOK.

Make sure you are pulling the bolt back on top of the tophat until you feel a click.

IF you are still getting a blast then it might be time to replace your bolt orings.

I have but it keeps working loose. Ive had four different stems and hats made over the last year or so and before they broke for what ever reason some my fault, they all done the same. So any other ideas? I have been looking st a side cocking method for some time but what I’ve seen they are all just a slit in the side so no locking the breach down.

Fix the tophat. There is a lock screw to prevent the tophat turning.
You cannot expect the breech to stay closed if not in locked position.
Enough energy from the closing valve pops the breech open.
