Nitrogen Tank ?
I have a chance to buy a 6000psi Nitrogen Tank but it is not the tall one it is the shorter Bottle (still heavy as fu@k) maybe 4ft tall. He wants $75.00 for the tank and $20.00 for the regulator.
Question #1 : Is this worth it?
#2 : Do I need the regulator?

What is stamped on the tank?
A DOT tank has to have all the proper stamps or all you have is a chunk of scrap.
What does the regulator have marked on it? Is it brass or stainless?
The same goes here. Without the proper markings, it is junk and can get you killed if you don’t know what it’s limitations are.
The tank is a red 60cu about the size of a scuba tank but I can’t find the psi on it, I called R.E. Michaels where he purchased the tank from but they can’t tell me the psi either, in the catalog it doesn’t state the psi. I don’t want to pay for it and I can’t use it.
I’d recommend checking the outlet pressure of the regulator before purchasing it.
If it’s indeed useful, or if it’s a model which can be re-ranged to a useful outlet pressure…it’s a STEAL @ $20.

I’d buy it just for the reg…. 😯 things dont work out, you can always recoup your cash on the reg alone….

check for date of manufacturing. Where you can get it hydro tested and filled.
Yes you need the reg! it alone sells for about 400$

It’s got all the info “punched ” into it..they don’t get out of the factory without it! Sometimes it can be a BEEEECH finding it, but it’s there!!!
Regardless of what the regulator is made of it’s worth waaaay more than you’re giving for the whole set-up…..
BUT ya need to find date of manufacture, psi rating and date of last hydro (if you want to use it ) BEFORE you give up the cash.
