Q:

New AF valve vs lighter valve spring & heavier hammer

Do both of these options cure the valve sticking problem on the older condor tanks when filled to 3000psi ? If so is one a better cure than the other? By better I mean easier to tune, more power, more consistant shoot strings ect… I looked at the valve compare pics and I definitely have the old one.
Thanks 😕

Thanks to all for the info & advice. I’ll likely send off my two tanks to AF for them to install the new valves as Im not comfortable working on that end of the gun yet.

The old valve just stinks. A heavier hammer will help a little, but is not a cure. What will happen is the pressure will get down to 2700 or so, and your velocities will increase every shot until you run out of air. Its not a consistent valve/hammer arrangement.

I haven’t tried a different spring. I wasn’t able to get the old valve out of the bottle. I ended up buying a new tank w/valve.

Tag,
I haven’t upgraded yet. Use it mostly in a 12â€

Yes, I am one of the happy ones. I have the newer valve and can fill to even 3100 PSI. 😮

The new condor valve solves the old condor valve problems. Guys are very happy with the new version
