Need some buying advice…I’m pretty well clueless
First off, thanks guys for the warm welcome the other day. It’s no doubt I’ve found the best place for an AF noob to be. I’ve read through just about every thread in every category on this site, and have gleaned just enough info to make me dangerous. I’m compiling a wish list based on what I’ve learned, but I’ve got a few questions. First, what I believe to be my dream rig:
Talon in .22, 18″ bbl with baffled frame extension. I’d like the vented front bushing and frame. I’d like Anthony to tune the hammer and valve. A decent scope, preferably an AO side wheel job and a lighted reticle, though I don’t know squat about scopes to know what magnification is over-kill and what’s appropriate. I’d want the SCBA adapter, too.
My main question is how much am I going to have to pay for my dream rig?
Moving from a stock Talon SS to a tuned 18″ Talon, what sort of real-world increase in FPE should I expect to see, in say, Kodiaks and CPs? I know I read about the velocity and energy increase just by virtue of a longer bbl, but I’m also asking with regard to valve and/or hammer job. How much will the combination of longer bbl and tune add to the gun’s performance with, again, Kodiaks?
Is a .25 cal. bbl worth while if I don’t put a Condor bottle on it? I think I’m correct in saying I need a new hammer assembly to make it work with a Condor bottle. Or does Anthony’s standard tune address the hammer to the point where all I have to do is add a Condor bottle to have a Condor?
What’s a .25 bbl cost, anyway? I’d think I’d want to go with a 24″ bbl, unless there’s some reason not to. I don’t need the frame extension and baffles, but I would need a new end cap, so I’d be curious what the total cost of adding a .25 bbl will be.
Is Anthony’s tune different depending on what caliber I select. From what I’v been able to learn, his tune’s a one-size-fits-all until we start playing with hammer weights. Or am I wrong?
I appologize for all the questions, but as the FNG around here, my mind’s boggled with all the possibilities, and it’s pretty difficult for me to recall everything I’ve read over the last week or so. Thank you in advance for any help.

Chad; If I were you I’d contact Tony directly and see what price he’d quote you for the entire upgraded rig that you described. I’ll just bet he’ll do right by you.
Tony can answer all your questions too. He’s also a gentleman and nice to deal with. AKULA
