Q:

My New AAA.25 Condor

Finally got to shoot my new toy, a .25 Condor made by Tony.
First, I decided to go with a OP valve from Tim; I wanted to have dead solid valve with no need to adjust anything, and I think Tony and I got it where it needs to be. I wonder if anyone else went the same route. The bipod Tony put on that thing is look like it’s been there from day one – dead solid, sturdy, and is a true improvement to the rig. The shroud is impressively effective. I think I have done every possible mod Tony have on his site. I decided to put a Bushy 4200 6-24×40 MD on it. Didn’t do any accuracy tests, but perhaps on a calm day I’ll sight it in at 45 yards or so.
I had two bottles for Tony to modify: custom OP valves had to be custom fitted. The first bottle is for 31 gr. Kodiak and the second one for 42 gr. EJ, which I put to test. So, the bottle for EJ spits 42 gr. EJ @ 975 fps, and Kodiak @ 1030 fps. I was able to get 22 full power shots with the pressure started @ 2900 psi.
Overall I am impressed with Tony’s work. Definitely worth every penny.
More will follow…

49″ overall.

Just put my condy through a chronograph again. 42 gr EJ, PW 5, pressure 190 bars:

1. 944 11. 938
2. 980 12. 936
3. 958 13. 937
4. 960 14. 955
5. 949 15. 958
6. 953 16. 918
7. 954 17. 931
8. 950 18. 920
9. 960 19. 909
10.945 20. 917

That’s 20 shots from 190 bars down to 140.

And 31 gr. Kodiak:

1020 1026
1013 1027
1015 1023
1032 1024
1030 1919
1031 1927
1033 1919
1029 1014
1037 1011
1034 1011
1033 1005

That’s 22 shots from 190 bars down to 140 with extreme spread of only 32 fps.

I have an artificial lake close by that is 162 yards wide. No wind. Went on the opposite side, placed a can of coke, came back, and blew it away with Kodiak. Gotta love custom Condors…

What is the over all length of your that gun?

Placed my order w/ PA for an assortment of .25 ammo so i’ll be ready when it gets here.

Thats gonna kill you. When you open the box of pellets and start drooling over them, the impulse to call Tony with a “please hurry up” is overwhelming. πŸ˜›

I hate how right you are about now……my Pyramid order arrived today.

thinking:
don’t call tony, be patient, don’t call tony, be patient, ………….

I know the wait will be worth it but DAMN. The next few weeks is going to suck.

If “ANTICIPATION” were a human being, surely she would be female. Nothing else can cause such a love/hate emotion. πŸ˜€ 😑 😈

I Ain’t no Doctor, and I Ain’t got no Stinking Patients!!! Oh well, I guess I can learn!! #*@&!!!!!!!! +1 Grrrrrrr!!!

first off, Kiss my a$$ and thank you for making this worse than it already is.

second, sounds like you “BEEN THERE DONE THAT” so I’ll take comfort in the fact I’m not the first to suffer.

No your not the first and you will not be the last πŸ˜‰ I went through the same disturded feeling and it was crazy. Hell I did it like 3 times with other guns and I’m in agony right now for the 4th time. I’m kind of messed up like that 8)

When I ordered my barrel from Tony it took a bit over a month to get it.

Tony has to machine the breech area of the barrel, and make and mount the bushings and test fire the barrel.

Considering he has a backlog of work, I wouldn’t think it would take any less time for him to get to it.

If you order, just be patient. The wait is worth the quality.

How long does it normally take Tony to get a .25’er out. I would like to try one!

Mike,

I told you… Next time you come down to Austin, give me a holler. I’ll let you try my AAA Condor .25. I’ll just have to make sure I keep a leash on it. Once you get your hands on it, you won’t want to give it back πŸ˜† πŸ˜† πŸ˜† πŸ˜† πŸ˜†

Hey!!! No cutting in line!!!!

I was ahead of you, I want my rifle First!

Well, you could bring your’s by and let me shoot it! LOL

Man I’m weak! Those waits kill me!!! Thanks for the Reply.

Sorry! I didn’t make myself very clear. What I was wondering was how long for one of his drop in bbl’s. Does he keep a few of them in stock, or does he have to make them up. And if so how long. I would think it would take less time than a custom build.

Thanks in advance. Mike

Placed my order w/ tony this week for drop in .25, hammer, shroud. He said allow 2-3 weeks (he has barrels in stock, but not machined).

This is gonna be worse than waiting for Christmas or the first day of hunting season!!!

JPEG – 6 weeks sounds about right. Tony currently has my SS for a tune and mods. At the time I called, he informed me that he was back logged with work and it will take that long. Can’t rush perfection. Can’t wait to get it back. The squirrels are taking over the neighborhood!
