Many of you will remember Lama telling the story of his first time shooting the .300 RUM and hurting himself…. Here’s the video.

He was to fast going for the gun being dropped, he knew what was comming.
I saw her hold,and knew what was coming. I kind of think the idiots didn’t notice her hold, and the one jerk thought he was keeping her from falling back from recoil. They “all” need to leave guns to people who are capable of safely handling them. I was telling my 9 yr old daughter what was about to happen,as we watched it. I’m in the process of breaking her habit of holding even her 2400 in that manner. Only funny was YN’s reference to my buddy, Mr. Llama.
Ha. Ouch. That would suck.
What is the truly funny part though, go read the comments. Guys are talking about her getting hit because they guy stands behind her and crap. It’s really funny. People are idiots. 😛
ok, well…when I said funny I certainly didn’t mean ‘funny’ as in ha, ha… I meant ‘funny’ as in odd…I do feel sad for her, and think those guys that did that to her, should be held down with the butt of the gun on their balls and then the trigger pulled! My wife and daughter are like Annie Oakley with a 9mm or my airgun, or a .22 LR! They know how to shoot properly and respect the weapon they hold. Guys like that don’t belong shooting, let alone owning a gun. Someone prolly did that to them when they were a kid, so they think it is right to ‘pass it on’…. that is so STUPID!!!!!!
She is probably left eye dominate and obviously nobody cared enough to TEACH her anything other than what she had seen on TV.
I have always wondered why someone would do that kind of thing to a new shooter? So many times I have seen some guy give a lady or kid a 12 gauge, high power rifle, or magnum pistol only to laugh when they hit the ground. Just like this guy they always seem to catch their weapon without any regard to their “friend”. It is definitely a turn off to the new shooter and another loss for our already endangered sport.
I don’t mean to be preachy, but we need every new shooter and NRA member we can get. We need them happy with their training and equiptment. They will naturally move up the power scale at their own pace and hopefully be shooters for life. Some of my firearm shooting friends have critized me for training myself and others with air guns and .22’s. But the lack of recoil and noise allows a person to develop critical muscle memory without flinch or apprehension. Some of my same friends can’t believe it when I hit a steel target at 100 yards with a S&W 629 Mountain Gun. That’s a 4″ .44 magnum revolver. That comes from comfortable practice; lots of it.
I am pleased to see that many of you recognize what was wrong with that video and have sympathy for that young lady.
While that didn’t tickle my funny bone at all, I understand that some people do find it entertaining. My perverse sense of humor was revealed to me when watching Cygnus X’s squirrel videos. I also enjoyed the squirrel throwing videos that are out there on the net.
what I thought was a little funny, was the fact that she is holding the gun right handed, but yet it was her LEFT eye that got smacked. WHY would you aim through the scope with your left eye, when you are holding it for right handed shooting ❓ 😯
I know this is wrong…. but I still find that video hilarious. Poor girl!
Thats exactly what it was, thought it’d be funnny to see her get freaked by the kick. Doubt they thought it’d smack her in the face. At least one would hope.
More importantly they risked permanent damage to her eye. Those clowns knew she wasn’t even close to holding that rifle correctly but let her shoot anyway. SHAME on them. If that is their idea of a practical joke……..
Yeah, they set her up good and filmed it. She didnt have the gun in her shoulder let alone tight and locked and if you watch you notice the guy behind her gets ready to grab the gun when it falls even before she takes the shot.
They may have got what they thought is a funny video but what they most likely did was turn that girl off of guns for the rest of her life.

I second you Blackops. I did not find any part of that amusing in any way shape or form. It was downright dangerous to put that poor girl in that situation. I hope she has a tough boyfriend or a couple of big brothers that will give those douchebags a good ass whooping.
