Protect it with a shroud. win/win 🙂

CW,
Lothar Walther offers barrel blanks but they are not stainless. Hunting in the rain will not ruin a barrel.
Just use precautions and clean it and oil it at the end of the day and it will be fine. If you have a good shooting barrel, keep it. And just take care of it.
Check the thread in Mods/Machinist http://talonairgun.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1994 for some spray-on then bake coatings that will work well on steel & aluminum and provide plenty of corosion resistance. just plug the bore on each end before spraying & baking. Keep the muzzle pointed down in the downpours.

If you can machine a chromemoly barrel blank, you can machine a stainless one. What are you wanting? to modify a barrel blank? or one made from scratch? I cut all kinds of materials, let me know what it is you want, I can more than likely help you out.

Can I ask why it has to be stainless steel? Did you take a look at some of the barrels Tony has?
