Q:

Low tank fill shooting

Gun: AirForce Condor .25 cal, Talontunes Barrel, Leapers 8-32×56, stock parts (only tank valve slightly lapped and retainer spring tension decreased).

I did this spring’s first 25 meter (27 yrd) shooting today getting tank empty for some mods to done. I started from 200 bar (2900 psi), never measured speeds, just shooting. I’ve been told for uncontrolled tankbleed under some fill level and I was waiting for it. I shoot and shoot, nothing happens, only shootgroup went round over “black” finally starting drop more and more. PW was set for zero.
Last time I checked pressure it was around 20 bar (290 psi)! That wasn’t first time with this low fill.
Well, I put 5 shots more on board, not bad with speed around 150 m/s (492 fps), speed estimated by previous test. I shot about 7 more and pulled loading tap for emptying rest of air. Those lasts had so low speed so I thought, one more and it’ll stuck into the barrel.

Shooting 25 m/27 yrd looked like pellet must not have exact speed for suitable accuracy. 50 meter ( 55 yrd) definately needs more speed and flat power curve.
Other test groups, same distance, pw 8/8, fill 200–>165 bar (2900–>2393 psi).
Hardly can wait to test it for longer distance.
