like this ?

when the light has been right i have seen pellets in flight through the scope as well…

Like voltar said bright low backlighting is key.

Cygnus had some really cool vids where the pellet is clear as day and the impact is in slow mo. too cool.

Speaking of watching the pellet… Any way of making a pellet-tracer?
Perhaps with a springer that diesels to ignite something tucked into the pellets skirt?

LOL! How about having a flame in the front like the old WWII flamethrowers to ignite a tracer pellet?? Wouldn’t that be a hoot!

(go ahead… YOU try it first…. LOL)

Welcome!

Yes it is absolutely the coolest thing to watch the pellet on its trip to the target. With the low sun at your back is the easiest way to see the pellet
Walter…

Yeah easy for you to watch them to the target Walter because your Vulture FLINGS bricks made of lead downrange compared to my little .25 cal pellets. 😥

Randy 😯

If I’m shooting at the right time of day, when the light is hitting the pellet just right, and I’m shooting at a velocity that doesn’t get there next to instantly, I can see the pellet. It’s pretty cool. Mine are with eun jins. Just one of those things that doesn’t do much good, but it makes you go “cool”. 🙂

anthony got it correct. crosman premiers are what im watching leave the barrel. good job you win five used crosman premiers. only fired once.

Now I have to stop what I am doing and get some trigger time in…

Just make sure you wash your hands good…..Mister smelly fingers….LOL

It is always like your first time pulling the trigger, watching the pellet impact.

One of the easiest pellets to see in flight is the Crosman Premiere.
Look at the rear of one, they almost have tiny mirrors on them and when the light is right they are beautiful to watch…

i can see the pellet for a brief instance. cool !!

ha ha !! rob doesnt everyone squeak? just a little ?

haha… I guess a little bit… you just gotta wonder about the guys who just go “wooooosh!” 😯

Well youi know what that means if they don’t squeak… 😯

I’ve never seen a pellet through my scope. I have seen bullet trace at longer distances. Is that what I should be watching for? Or do you see the actual pellet?

That is for sure. One thing is these little aluminum guns are not boring. I have other guns and while great shooters they are boring because they are beautiful and shoot well and that is it. I do not mess with them at all because they are as good as it is going to get.

The Airforce guns on the other hand are like hot rods that can be changed on a whim to whatever you want. If you want a carbine or a cannon all it takes it a barrel change or bottle change and you are good to go.

The are not the best guns but they sure provide a great platform for experimentation and creativity for the airgunner

Airgunners in general are normally a fickle group.

There are some on other forums (and probably here, too!) who are so uptight that they probably cant even manage a decent fart without it squeaking. 😆

We take our AF guns serious, but we have fun!
