Say Bodi; isn’t just stuffing hardware cloth down the shroud a lot like just pushing that green 3M pad down the barrel? In and by itself, will it work?
To me it seems the hair curler thing was a “support system” for the 3M stuff, or felt cloth. Am I wrong?

Please note the articulate wording: “thing”….”stuff”……

😀 😀

The tube was used just to roll the mesh. As you slide it off it wants to uncurl, pinch it, slide it in and it can’t uncurl. I have a nice sized path for the pellet and a sweet baffle which will with stand the blast of air from any valve. I just made sure to over wind it, try and fit it, too tight snip a 1″, retry snip a bit more and then slide it in the tube. Its tight and will stay that way as it can’t uncurl inside the frame. 😉

I’ve thought about doing something similar with the wire mesh but I didn’t see how I could keep it together on the inside and from folding into the axial path. Seems like using an inner tube would defeat alot of the effectiveness. Let me know how it works out.

Same here brother. If you read that ones profile of material used. It states a permeable metal mesh. I wrapped a 2″ strip of hardware cloth around a 5/16″ rod yesterday to make up a baffle, spaced it with a felt washer and more hardware cloth baffles. Just need to work on a endcap. Switched out my 12″ for a 18″ and slid a 1″ ali tube down the frame 7″ beyound end of frame. Vented a plastic bushing which sits in front of the barrel and then a felt spacer. I know this the hardware cloth ain’t going anywhere, its a tight pressure fit and can’t unspin itself. Pushing 50+fpe can’t wait to see how quiet it is.

I’ve got a whole folder full of stuff like that man… different ideas, patents… shoot me a pm if you’re interested.
