Can you turn up a leyla to 50ish fpe with 25.4pellets? How about 33.9 pellets? What might the shot count be then?January 2, 2019 at 5:08 pm #276817
Dude!!!!! 50 fpe wouldn’t even get the pellet out the barrel…

Make your question easier to understand. Are you trying to increase your fpe by 50 fps???? That can be had by adjusting the hammer spring on the single shot Lelyas. Your question sounds like you want “50ish” fps in your Lelya.
I shoot 19gr H&N Field Target Trophy pellets in my Lelya. The reason being a heavy pellet, at the speeds a Lelya can produce, will have a rainbow trajectory if you are shooting any distance beyond the 50 to 100 feet that’s common in pest shooting. The lighter pellets fly better at lower speeds, better accuracy, less holdover errors. Yet the .25 caliber still packs a good punch on impact. I’d avoid the ultra heavy .25 pellets in a small gun like the Lelya. Not everyone agrees…comments welcome!

Why would you think that? My post states that I want 50ish fpe as in foot pounds of energy. But I am looking to get 50 or so “a little less or maybe a little more” foot pounds of energy from a lelya 25 cal. I emailed ” Ed gun west” Brian and he said it is a high 40ish fpe ” foot pounds of energy” rig when he ships it. Thanks for your reply by the way.i shoot a .25 talonP now. I want the same kind of power with a higher shot count.January 3, 2019 at 3:28 am #276823
Mine is currently tuned for 770 fps with the 34s. I get 32-34 shots per fill. At this tune it will push the 25.4s at 882 fps. I prefer the 34s as the gun feels better to shoot and it is really quiet. I have not tried to get to the 50 fpe target you are looking for but I can tell you for sure that the gun is an awesome little beast at 45.

Joe…HOW did you wring that much power out of the Lelya??? I shot a few 31 gr Barracudas and got 650 fps for 29 fpe. Did you adjust your regulator? How are you getting 770 fps with 34 gr?
Is yours the the new Lelya, or Gen 1? Mine is Gen 1 single shot. There must be a difference here…my guess is you have the larger multi-shot Lelya.
PS: PB…I guess I misunderstood your original question…old age is a bitch!!!January 27, 2019 at 12:16 am #276889quote Hoot post_id=389545 time=1548195346 user_id=1794:
