Leaving the power wheel set to high

Will leaving the power wheel set to high all the time wear out the hammer spring?

Maybe a danger of wearing out the collar that the bottle screws into. Its held there by a grub screw. But that mostly if you use a “aftermarket” spring.

NO.

Springs are meant to be compress and that is their job. If you left is totally compressed over a period of years it might make a differance.

I have read though a high quality SS spring does make a difference in shot to shot consistency variation.

Why would you have the PW on high in the first place?

If the brech is not cocked then there is little load on the spring. On the other hand if the brech is cocked then left for some time it could, maybe cause some spring fatigue. I have never read of such a thing though.
