Q:

Kinda frustrated; could someone please help?

Hi I was just about to order a carbin fiber tank from a guy that was initially slated to be around $235, then at the last minute he mentioned that I’d need a $129 hose for it to work with my air gun I’m going to get (condor).

I guess I need some explanation from either someone, or could someone send me a link to some instructions etc, on the easiest and cheapest way to hook my gun up to a tank. I’ve also found locally a decent deal on a regular 3000psi used scuba tank for $75 so that’s an option also, although I would much prefer the fiber tank the guy was selling (it’s about 12 pounds!), but I just can’t afford to pay as much in scuba gear as the gun itself (I totalled up the fittings he said I’d need, the $129 hose et. al. and it was like $500!).

Can someone shed some light for me here? Should I just go the cheap route of using the scuba tank for $75? If so what’s the least adapater stuff I’d need – and would I also need the $129 hose for that? Thanks

Don’t spend your money on anything but a 4500psi Carbon Fiber tank and make sure it has enough life left to justify the cost. Buy from Tim Mac1 or Joe Brancota. Make sure they know what you are wanting to fill.
A gun that wants 3000psi fills must be fed from a 4500psi tank.
Do not take shortcuts on these components.
If this all is too much money then investigate a CO2 adapter that allows you to use paintball tanks. Then when you are more flush get into the PCP part of the hobby.

WOK; Thanks, he was easy to find on the Yellow. AKULA

I got mine from Mac1 but there is another guy in Hunington Beach name Joe Brancato that sells tanks and fittings also

WOK; Who sells the fitting in your picture. AKULA

My fittings cost more then my CF tank…lol

$100 for the tank and $140 for the fittings

Make sure the scuba tank is rated at least to 3000psi. Steel tanks range from 2400(very common 72ci tank) to 3500psi(more expensive larger tanks).

Aluminum tanks are 3000 or 3300 and mostly 80cf.

The pressure will be stamped into the neck of the tank.

I have a brand new AF scuba clamp that I would let go for $55 shipped CONUS.

The second link I sent you IS the Scuba Adapter. You can buy it with the gun also and probably save a little money. It comes with everything you need, so you don’t need any extra adapters. This link for the Condor has what you need. http://www.pyramydair.com/cgi-bin/model.pl?model_id=1373 It’s $607.95 for gun and scuba adapter. If you use the code “NRA-PYRAMYD” during checkout, you can knock 10% off the price saving you about $60 bucks. You won’t be able to use the free shipping offer, but it won’t cost as much to ship it as the $60 bucks you’re saving. HTH

quote Nuglor:

You can’t use a standard HPA tank with a Condor or Talon unless you use a CO2 adapter which still costs $99.95 http://www.pyramydair.com/cgi-bin/accessory.pl?accessory_id=1713 The Condor bottle has a unique valve built into it that depresses each time the hammer hits. If you are trying to fill your stock Condor bottle from a scuba tank, you need this fitting for $75. http://www.pyramydair.com/cgi-bin/accessory.pl?accessory_id=559 HTH

OK so

Also I just talked to the guy, it’s actually $100 for the used scuba tank he’s wanting here locally; it’s also steel which is better right(?).

I just don’t think I can afford the carbon fiber at this route after totally everything up, which sucks…

So if I buy this guy’s steel scuba tank for $100, and I buy the fitting you just sent me the link to, is there anything else I need? Don’t i need the black fitting from air force that goes onto the hand pump thing? They said I’d need that adapater no matter what route I went. I guess I’d like a list of “everything” I need that represents the cheapest route to work with this guy’s steel scuba tank. he said it’s set up for standard clamp filling at a scuba shop.

Also I’ll need to order the scuba adapter with the gun right? Thanks
