kill’n pigeons with an SS and crow magnums
got a .22 SS and I’m using crow magnums. any suggestions for lowest possible power settings and kill’n pigeons at 12 yards? havent gotten tony’s shroud yet and dont want to piss off the neighbors.

lol…yeah, i got a range finder today. turns out some targets are a lot closer than i thougth they were. 55 yards is definitely doable. there’s going to be a lot of neighbors with dead pigeons in their yards!!!

i dropped a little bird yesterday and it fell into the neighbors yard. oops. now i gotta find a stealthy way to get it out of there. fences are high around here… it’ll have to be a night op
I have yet to have a flyaway with a head shot.
Requires more discipline, better shooting, more patience, lower hit percentage (yes it is easy to miss). But the added challenge plus not having the neighbors complaining about dead animals is worth it.
Try JSB Predators. You’re more likely to get a clean kill on the first shot. They’re also VERY accurate in the AF guns.

small doves dont need much power…large pigeons can be pretty tough(for a bird)
pickle you gun…..sound might be pronounced to you, but someone standing 10 yards away shouldnt hear much…get a buddy to demonstrate while you survey the property…its the only way to be sure…
i had a ninja shooting my hmr in my basement…while i ran around the house listening, apparently 4-6 layers of currogated carboard makes for effective noisecancelation when put up agains windows
if you can shoot from inside a house then the house will become a silencer too.
for stealth…crowmagnum pellets could be exchanged for something domed instead….CM has a tendency to make a loud smack when hitting the target…domes less so
remember…that bird even after you poke a hole in them can fly…maybe right into neighbourgs yard
Iron, 500 fps should be plenty for pigeons at 12 yards provided you try to avoid shooting through wings. I don’t know what that would equate to on the Talon wheel. I’d put it on 2 or 3.

I tried some baffling and it sounded toyish,maybe hammer slap mod too ?

Zapped a crow the other day thru the melon . . . it stayed in my yard . . . also hung upside-down from the limb for a bit. Looked a bit abnormal. However, when it dropped, I scored style points when the beak buried to the noggin in the lawn. Another nest raider falls to the EBAR (Evil Black Air Rifle).
