Is this happening to anyone else?
Pyramyd Air does a LOUSY job of packaging the pellets for shipping. Most times my tins come dented, but this one takes the cake. The pellets don’t appear to be damaged but it still pisses me off that they don’t package things better. These are the 4 tins of EJ .22 Cal I ordered, and this is exactly how they were when I opened the box. 😡 😡

I just got my pellet order from Pyramyd. They were packed very well and arrived safely. They did make a mistake though. I ordered one tin of AA diablos (JSB Exacts) and 3 tins of JSB Express. They sent the tin of AA diablos and 3 tins of JSB Exacts (instead of Express). I’m not complaining as everyone has been out of stock on the Exacts for weeks. 😀
Hi Terry,
You should call Sharon at Pyramid, (888-262-guns, ext. 228), I’m sure that she will be interested in your experience. You should have your invoice handy as she will be interested in who the sales person was, and who packed your order. So far everybody that I have made this suggestion has been happy with her response.
Last week I ordered 3 tins of AA Field .22’s thinking they would include the 4th tin free, they didn’t.When the UPS guy handed me the box I could hear the pellets rattle around inside the box. They had put 3 big 500ct. tins in with a handfull of packing peanuts ,one tin was badly mangled and I threw out 15 or 20 completly flat pellets while transfering them back to the tin. I haven’t looked through them good yet ,so I don’t know exactly how many are bad. One pc. of scotch tape around the tin might have prevented this.
Thanks to Stevein LAs’ insight on this matter I called Sharon at PA yesterday. Without hesitation she shipped me a duplicate order and assured me that the pellets would arrive safe and secured.
Hey Guys.. I wish I had someone like her working for my company. She is an asset to PA, and to us here at TAF. I laud her virtue for going above and beyond.
Sincerely,
Harry
Steve,
Your last thread has just opened my eyes to this in a different light. 8)
I’ll call that woman you mentioned so PA knows what’s going on. Again, this isn’t the first time this has happened. When my .22 Predators came out some time back the tins were so dented due to poor packaging (many a pellet suffered extreme damage rendering them unusable) that I had to throw the tins out and putt the pellets in others. Come to think of it, most of the stuff I receive from them is poorly packaged.

This seems to be a topic that many are interested in. I didn’t mean to suggest that Harry, or anyone else “shake down” Pyramid, or any other retailer. If a person’s pellets are damaged in transit because of how they were packaged then they should be replaced. But I am not sure that is the issue here. We don’t hagle over price. We pay them good, hard earned money for their products. In turn, we expect that these products arrive in good condition. Pyramid, and others, need to know when something is going wrong on their end so that they can take appropriate measures to ensure that their future shipments will arrive OK. Their reputation is riding on every shipment. Especially with a group like ours.
When I am ordering pellets I tell them I want a full sleeve or what comes to a full box that is sealed and not opened. They still can be dented but I have never had then busted open and spashed inside a bigger box like this…
EJ’s come in a nice box of 10
Predators come in a box of 10 also
Kodiac comes in a nice 5 pack box
Ever since I started telling them I wanted mine shipped like this and I would buy this larger amount at the time when I ordered, its been a lot better conditions on each tin
Harry,
Does the flat rate postal apply from the mainland to the island? If it does Mac1 would send it that way and save you some money.
I’ve received pellets in the same condition. Why the manufacturers don’t tape wrap some of the tins I cant imagine, particullarly the unthreaded ones.
I sent Pyramyd a polite complaint and suggested that they adopt a policy of taping the tins themselves. With the 4 for 3 price deal Pyramyd sells pellets at a good price. Taking the time to tape tins that the manufacturers skimped on would cut into their margin.
It seems to me that tins are much like corks in wine bottles – The traditional, but not necessarily best, way to get the job done. Anyone who uses child-proof pill bottles can imagine a more secure container. I’m not suggesting pill bottles as a solution, just pointing out the root cause of the problem.
i bought some 16 grain air arms pellets from them a week ago and it was the exact same way, everything was dumped out, but my pellets did suffer, mybe we can suggest that pyrimid air puts masking tape around the rim of the pellet tin, that is what i do for longer term storage. but with the pellets i use daily is bought a lot of rubber maid storage containers, the little one they use for conduments.
Mike MV….
I am with you loud and clear. It cost me $24.00 to have them shipped here.
Total bill: including pellets & shipping: Pellets:$20.97 Shipping:$24.00
$44.97
I’ve had Women take me for a ride that I only wish that I’d gotten away this cheaply.
Respectfully
Dirty Harry
Yeah Man…….. the pellets came to me as a big mess…….. but I can’t prove that they were damaged during shipping. The pellets actually seem OK. Not crushed or anything like that. I’m sure that if I made a Stink to Pyramyd……. I could get another order of same sent for free. The Fed Ex guy has me sign and while he is handing me the box I can hear the pellets bouncing around like I put a Nickel in a Gumball machine.
Although I know that they should have done the right thing by taking care to package the pellets properly…I can’t in good conscience try to shake them down for a Freebee.
The pellets, for some reason didn’t appear to suffer any damage from Ohio to Hawaii.
For you guys that are/and have been married….. Man….A couple tins of mispackaged pellets would have been the easy way out if Momma ever touched ’em before you.. 8) 8)

Hey DH! I’m loving that High Speed box opener you’ve got there! Got to get me one of those!!! Aha! Yep, that shipment looks to be a mess.
I have had a few problems with shipping lately, but I contacted Pyramid, and I’m very impressed by they’er response. I will continue to do buisness with them, as they “DO” care about their customers. A bit refreshing in todays world. And thanks S ‘LA
I don’t think I’ve ever had anything like that. I do get dents sometimes, but nothing like that. They usually have mine in some kind of plastic stuff around several pellet tins, so it keeps them shut.
If you send it to pyramyd, you might want to edit out the cigarette and knife. Draws attention away from the pellets. 😛

I called in an order this morning for a new fill clamp and hose ,and mentioned the pellet problem (Sharon was off,I got Sandra) she said they have a new shipping manager ,and that she would pass my suggestion along. She is sending a replacement for the tin that was damaged. I just hate to see the waist of time and money on something so easily avoided. Maybe their new manager will get it right.
