Q:

If you were forced to only use one kind of pellet…

In .22, what would it be? I certainly haven’t tried every pellet there is, but I don’t feel I have to. I’d pick the 21gr Beeman Kodiak, hands down. Maybe the most accurate pellet I’ve used, so it’s great for target shooting. Couple that with great power downrange, and it’s a winner. Great for short range, long range, target shooting, or hunting, I think it covers many tasks well, although I have yet to try the 18 gr JSB in my SS. In my s410, the JSB and Kodiaks seem about equally matched in accuracy. Wondering what others would pick if you had to choose just one.

21g Barracuda Match (AKA Kodiak match)
Period.
Those things are so deadly accurate, im positive they are the work of satan 😈
No need for exotic crap like crow mags, predators, etc. One barracuda at 930fps thru the head (because IT IS accurate enough for constant headshots), is FAR more deadly that any sofisticated expansive, hollow point, polimer tip pellet in the gut or chest.

cp hollow points work very well for me. best bang for the buck. works well in all my airguns too.

In my AA410c i have shot 14.3 g CPhp’s great ,15.9 grain JSB exact great groups also , JSB 18.1 grain the same + sweet long range power retention on critters , And the 21 grain kodiaks. 1/4 way through first tin they are sweet and would be the overall choice if i had to use just one all i do is plow critters and they drop coons hard . Chris

Kodiaks.

LOL…Python you killed me with that one 😀
For me it would be JSB’s in .22 and that’s if all others have dried up.

If I had to choose just one…pretty sure it would be the Crosman Premiers– thats in .20cal– they are the heaviest accurate shooting pellet of my 3 favorites— kodiaks– jsb are the other two —but for sure the crosman premiers would be the ones…..20cal that is——–.177 Kodiaks -period

Hey Slayer5, your slaying us with your avatar, it’s far beyond gigantic, the biggest one I’ve ever seen, resize please… smaller, not bigger lol

what ever they are called , I have yet to try them I have atin waiting for some long range practice. I figured it was a waste to try them in the basement at 27 feet! LOL
I want to try some 50 yard groups with the Kodiaks and ejin’s side by side. Just gotta figure out how to get my scuba tank into the woods. LOL

I already use only one pellet, the 21gr Bisley Magnum (think it’s a Kodiak in the US). Top pellet. 😀

Yep, I believe they are the exact same pellet, just different names.

Not to surprised by the reply’s… seems it’s Kodiaks, with JSB’s a very close second, or equal, this is my experience as well. Kinda makes me wonder what we would do without either one of these very fine pellets that seem to reign supreme for most of us, since how much you like your gun usually hinges on how much your gun likes a pellet. The accuracy of my guns drops from a little, to a lot with other pellets I’ve tried.

Although the JSB shoot very well in every gun I try them in, I use Kodiaks when its time to go long.

Considering most of my shots are 50+ yards when hunting, I couldnt live without the kodiaks but I would sorely miss the JSBs.

JSB 18gr
