Hi all

Needing to adjust the HST ? Then easy . Use a woodworkers mortise gauge. One edge has one pin non adjustable. Other side has two pins with an adjuster screw at the end . Heh presto adjust width and HST turns easily. No need to spend loads of dosh. Adjustable for other guns such as Cricket. Buy more ammo instead.

Plus you can use it as a fork…..

newer guns come with a hst adjuster which has a hole for an allen key.

Here’s mine made out of an old tire patch pushing tool.

The tool already had a split tip and eyelet. Heated the tip to red hot and bent them outward to the correct spacing. Took a few heating / bending cycles to get both tines to the desired spacing.
A quench in water to reharden the steel and then gentle heat to temper the metal. All done over a gas stove with the wife’s approval.

Then, some time with metal files and sandpaper created the right size/shape tips to go into the HST adjuster holes.
Not as pretty as an Ernest tool, but no waiting and I already had the “donor” tool in the junk box.
