I would strongly advise anyone who uses Photobucket to delete all cookies from their computer/browser after every session. After signing up, I monitored incoming vs. outgoing data streams and cookie volumes: what I saw and found was NOT GOOD!
Over 34 cookies were installed (bits of code put into your computer by other people), many of them from advertisers. The outgoing data stream indicated intrusive communication attempts, e.g. spying. If I was uploading, this outgoing data would be normal. But, this was during periods of no activity on my part.
The concerning part is my machine is filtering communications via a firewall. There’s no way of knowing what is happening to unprotected computers. Sure wish there were a cleaner way to deal with images. 🙁
