Q:

How many people use laser sights

Still trying to decide on a laser sight for tuned Talon SS. I need one for close range shots (10 – 20) yards.

Do they help??

Which one should I get…………..I have decided not to go with the green beam laser……..since my intended use will be under 20 yard shots.

A laser mounted under the barrel also works as a rough range finder in low light. The way mine is set up, the dot merges with the crosshairs at 25 yards.

thanks guys

maybe I should just learn how to use my mil dot scope??

I use mine at night for close shots. Works good when the cross hair dissapear.

I was about to post asking what people use their laser sights for. I also have a cheap BSA laser, but it’s all I want. I can see how when the summertime comes, it will be useful for close shots on possums and raccoons. I agree with Rob3dr.

Same as the rest, kinda cool, had to try one out. I’ve got a BSA $29.99 good laser for the money comes with a coiled plug in momemtary switch. So you can use it like that or just push the on button and have continuous run. Maintains a decnt dot size at 100′. Aim shot from crosman/daisy is absolute junk ($19.99) 2″ dot at the same range 😡 . The BSA is also easy to adjust and zero.

I’ve heard various things about the green lasers, especialy the cheap chinese knockoffs so buyer beware. The expensive green ones are really nice by all acounts. I use my scope for 10yd shooting, laser is nice for nitetime shooting with a flahlite for aquireing the target.

They’re great for shooting possums and racoons at night. I use a BSA; inexpensive but good.

I have a laser on my Talon SS. It’s useful for shooting mice. I can’t recommend the one I have though as it’s difficult to adjust. The ability to adjust a laser to your POI is key. AKULA

I have lasers mounted on both my Talon and Condor. Dont use them much though, if at all. They are great for quick short shots, but other than that, I just find them to be nothing more than a novelty.

and YES, they will spook pigeons like crazy. Squirrels find them fascinating though and I’ve toyed with a few of them using the laser just to watch them chase it and hide from it.

I tried one and had poor luck.

The mounting options keep it away from the boreline, making your useful range very small. I am tempted to build a mount that puts the laser in the end of the shroud, then I think it would be pretty useful.

The laser (red) spooked pigeons more than being lit up by my surefire light.

I too, would like to hear how others are successfully using lasers on AF guns.
