Adam……I’ve got tons of empty Heineken bottles you can crush up. Another avenue that will lessen your physical labor is to put all those beer bottles I give you in the clothes dryer along with your metal parts. 😆

Your Friend,

Dirty Harry

Might check with some of the metal fabricators in your area….I get mine from a sand blasting media store in Knoxville TN…. If you are going to tumble go a little heavier than normal…It will leave a nice low luster finish….

A good way to remember which loctite to use is that red requirs heat, like from a propane torch, to remove, and blue can be unscrewed cold. I don’t even want to talk about how I learned that factoid.

Mike I realize that. I was there buying hardware and took a shot. Ace did have it btw. Lol, and blue is weaker than red ). Your trying to pull a fast one on me.

Mike,

where are you getting he glass bead media?

Well Adam, I like ye butt plate just fine, But it is the 1911 Grip I’m in love with!!! On the finishing, I am using glass bead here in the shop for the tactical knives. Harbor freight has a very nice bench top cabinet on sale with a good hopper feed system. And only about $100.

Shadow, the reason your having a hard time locating Locktite thread locking compound it that you are looking in the wrong places! It isn’t the hardware stores fault.. Haa!!!

H. Depot, and Lowe’s, Ace H’ware are just that hardware stores. They deal in home repair, building, wood working, and plumbing. Thread locker is for the machinery, automotive, aircraft, aerospace industry. Where high vibration, stress, and in some formulas,. heat is present.

You want to look at a machine tool supplier, Heavy industrial supplier, any auto parts store. Think machinery and horse power. rather that hammer and nail suppliers. For what it’s worth, the nuts and bolts sold at the hardware stores are’nt high grade at all, with no tempering at all. That and they have a zinc, or other coating that would defeat just about any thread locker. Making it an item that they have no need or demand for.
I buy all mine at Industrial supply vendors. But Auto Zone, and O’reilleys has it in stock. Be sure to use the weaker “Red”. There are several grades.

Mike

They had loctite in the glue area but it wasnt for thread locking bolts and nuts. I dont remember atm what it was for but it wasnt it.

Adam,
Just keep doin what your doin. It’s great looking work ❗

I cannot even compare 2 of them…
Adam’s looks artsy and functional, and that one bulky and not attractive at all.
That’s why I ordered WOKBUT II 😉

Never was a question of Adam making that design first. I’ve drooled over that buttplate for years now. First time I saw his Talon on the TOG… the 1911 grip was cool, but for me, that buttplate was the cats ASS.
