Q:

Great way to mount a Harris (Updated w/ Pics)

I borrowed Anthony’s idea regaurding his method of mounting a Harris.

I picked up some swivel studs with 10-32 x 1/4″ threads and a tap. I drilled and taped the Condor frame to accept the swivel stud. The Harris mounts right to it just great. In addition, one of the same swivel studs will thread right into the top 10-32 shoulder rest hole on a WOKBUT 2 mounting plate for the rear of the sling.

I have two concerns… carrying the rifle by the sling puts most of the weight on that newly taped hole as well as the mounting point for the butt plate. I need to incorporate a sturdier method of mounting the pad.

I’ve rolled Herculiner on the shoulder rest of my WOKBUT 2 but I still have to spray the rest with AlumaHyde 2.

I’ll try to get up some pictures when it’s all done and back together.

Love the way you used the extra holes to install the swivel for the sling. Thank looks great!

Thanks WOK.

This Herculiner dries rather soft but is durable as all hell… I don’t think you could blast the stuff off. If you do manage to get a blade or something under it, it stretches like rubber when it peels.

It came out a little shinnier than I wanted so I also sprayed it with AlumaHyde.

That looks pretty good. You know what else might work for a softer Wokbutt? Maybe some plastic dip, like the stuff they use for tools.

Yours is looking impressive.

So it’s not a fancy camera or backdrop but I thought I’d show you what I’ve got. Works well.
