Q:

Got my 9mm kit yesterday! Pics sunday hopefully.

Got my 9mm kit yesterday. I’m extremely busy with stuff right now, so no pics yet. I’ll try to get it installed on Sunday, and give it a review. Thanks blodnob.

Must not be jealous. Must not be jealous. Must not be jealous.

Okay, I’m jealous. 8)

I wish I had a tricked out valve and a 9mm barrel.

Bah.

I shot into a 1 inch board, and the round nose 77 grain eun jin hit a knot in the wood. 😥 The knot stopped the pellet, BUT, the piece of wood SPLIT IN HALF!! Also, the pellet was completely deformed. I’ll try to get a proper review put together this weekend.

EDIT: this was with the tophat all the way screwed in.

have you fired it at anything yet like a piece of timber?i think it would be straight thru a piece of four inch timber?no probs,

I wasn’t expecting that AT ALL. lol. And I was hoping for 900fps with 68 grain roundball. ha! I’ve got to get some heavier slugs on order. Some 000 buck as well. All I have right now are the eun jins.

1200 fps would have given over 260fpe,jeez bro you have got one hell of a power house there now,

hahahahaha!!thats one hell of a motha f****er,dnc, you may get 300fpe with 150grainers,damn bud thats fantastic,i am smiling, them tree rats wont know whats hit em?gona needa good backstop, lol, have you got any heavier slugs ordered yet?

WOW!

I can only imagine what it will pull off with the heaqvier slugs.

You have got to get your hands on some 9mm Devastator Hollow Points!

That will make an IDEAL coyote rig!

UPDATE: I just did my first test shot from 2100 psi, and an 80 grain eun jin broke the sound barrier. 😯 😯 😯 😯 Yes folks, thats over 200fpe of energy. It was QUITE loud.

It. Has. Arrived.

years of great knowledge cyg, thanks for sharing it,really enjoyed reading about your work.

when i did my .308 i didnt have this new design but was still getting good power with the old style condor valve

heres the numbers it made….back then
Grain âž¡ FPS âž¡ FPE
119 âž¡ 872.49 âž¡ 201.2 308 for sale, powerwheel at 6, 230 bar
119 âž¡ 864.7 âž¡ 197.6
119 âž¡ 846.44 âž¡ 189.4
119 âž¡ 842.2 âž¡ 187.5
119 âž¡ 820.06 âž¡ 177.7
119 âž¡ 807.69 âž¡ 172.4
119 âž¡ 797.53 âž¡ 168.1
119 âž¡ 781.06 âž¡ 161.2
119 âž¡ 774.37 âž¡ 158.5
119 âž¡ 750.88 âž¡ 149.0
45 âž¡ 1156.37 âž¡ 133.6 refill to 230
76 âž¡ 969.48 âž¡ 158.7
83 âž¡ 944.52 âž¡ 164.5

the new design would have alowed me to push it even further…i posted a 5 shot string on the old TOG where the valve went from 245 to 200 fpe over 5 shots with 120 grain…so its definatly possible to shooting the 9mm ammo at 900-1000 fps…heck my .45 valve proves that in 45 caliber…check this chrony string…of the 45 shooting upper 900’s with roundball !!!

well what impact does the porting have?….hmm not 100% sure…cause i changed some stuff over when testing so it wasnt the only variable that i changed…but in the 20-40 fpe out of 550 fpe ! and when pushing for the max …yes it has to be done….but another thing it did was limit blowby around the stem….i didnt use oring around the stem in the beginning as it was veru tight toleranes and it actually did seal ok

imagine a the hole being the bow of a ship….water flows under and around the sides….without the porting of the portholes the bow is more like a submarine….with water flowing around and over…

doing the ports so the are like on the drawing aint hard…i chuck the stem in the tool holder of the lathe…set the angle that i want, and chuch a centerdrill in the chuck

the seal going from cone shape to cup shape in a .22 condor valve made one rifle i made go from 80 fpe to just shy of 100 ! and in the .308 it made the valve work more than the 20 shots ittook for it to deform the delrin enough to make it get stuck and relasing unrealiably….at one time i couldnt get the valve to fire at all, and i coulcnt get it to dump the air by putting a nut in the fill probe…i had to unscrew the valvebody from the bottle slightly to get a leak going….when i finally got it appart the delrin had within 3 fills been slowly peeled back like a banana and had move about a quater inch into the valvebody it selv…where from the release of the pressure expanded and got it selv really stuck…..took a hammer to force it out !

im not saying blodnop or anyone else did it wrong, and that my way is the only one…this is simply what i have figured out over time…and theres is probably several ways it can be accomplished…

That would be great if it would fire flat out to 100 meters. But I really don’t see that as being possible. I’ll be very happy if the valve shoots a 68 grain roundball at > 900fps for around 10 shots. Then it would shoot flat out to at least 55 yards.

how flat do you reckon that the 9mm with this new valve will fire out too?or what are you hoping for?would be good if it would fire flat to 100mtrs or more eh,

loftus, What ammo have you been shooting in your 9mm?

so much interesting knowledge to take in cyg,i think that the delrin ends will be easy to change to the lponger cup shaped, maybe blodnop will make us some, how much diference do you think that the different angles on the port holes have on the power cyg?will it be much?thanks for all that info,
