Q:

Frame extender versus shroud

Between a frame extender and a shroud, which is more effective for quieting a condor on the lower power levels? Also, what is about the average price for each?

New valve on condor works great. Soon I am going to fill a milk jug with water, freeze it, and shoot a Eun Jin into it at full power. Anybody tried this before?
Thanks,
Tyler

Very nice. How long did it take you to make it?

With CF, you need a diamond blade saw. Sawing took maybe 2 minutes.

Sanding the rough edges, another 2 minutes.

Assembly was maybe 20 minutes, I just had to be careful the washers were laying flat.

I would say the hardest part was the adapter. If you have a machinist freind or your own tools, make one out of aluminum.

Does the frame extender quiet the gun enough to allow you to shoot without your neighbors getting upset, or would a shroud be the best choice?

Tyler

I just built a frame extender that works very well. Parts shouldnt be hard to find at your hardware store.

See it here.

I started with a Frame Extender and for 50 bucks it was okay it did make a difference but I sold it and went to a Diana 16mm Muzzle Stablizer for 60 bucks. It attaches with 2 set screws and has a steel endcap that unscrews. Not only does it make a difference without baffles but more in the way of changing the tone/report. Add a few 1″ baffles and it really makes a difference but vented bushing and a full length shroud will bring down to being downright scary!!!

A frame extender is a shroud isnt it?

Not always. A shroud could be attached to the barrel. A frame extender is attached to the frame and not secured to the barrel.

A frame extender is a shroud isnt it?
