Quite tight. You did say 50″ right….??
RRA and CMMG are both considered quality for the money, plus CMMG sells a gas-piston model which is seen as a real plus.
Above that, you’ve got S&W, Colt, Mega, etc.
Prices have seriously come down in the last few months.
CDNN currently has some great deals on ARs. No less than six different configurations of CMMGs ranging from $750 to $900. They’ve also got a real nice deal on a S&W M&P15 flat top. $799 plus you get five free 30 rd mags from S&W.
Check the forums over at http://www.ar15.com for more info than you’ll ever probably want or need.
Thanks, I think I will check out the Rock River.
Hey Pab what kind of groups ya think at 50′
Don’t want to get into a pissin contest but i personally own DPMS and have a 2 friend s that own them and the accuracy is outstanding.
My buddy bought the 24″ LR 308 , and when i had the chance to shoot the gun i was surprised to say the least.
I have since bought the AP-4 carbine in 223, and 24″ bull in 223, and i am weighting on the 308 classic upper ,
The classic is medium weight barrel , holds great for off hand work ,which i do alot of. A- 3 upper receiver for scope mounting and come with open sights .
Forget the AR, get THIS 😆 😆 😆
From what I gather from those who appear to know, DPMS is considered bottom of the barrel in the AR-15 family. Next lowest is Bushmaster.

My roomate loves his Rock River arms varmint rifle. It’s not bad, sniper central did a review on it:

Very accurate gun. I think they guarantee .25moa out of the box with the right ammo. Only thing I don’t like about it is that it’s EXTREMELY muzzle heavy. It’s almost impossible to hold up to your shoulder and shoot accurately. Prone or from a bench it’s good though, and you could fix the off balance thing with some counter weights, although that may make the gun too heavy for anything but the range.
They can be very accurate, and tacti-cooled out the wazoo. I personally don’t like the way they work. Too much spring noise when shot, and I just don’t feel right not operating a bolt between shots. 😈 And they get SOOOO dirty and they suck when they do. Don’t get it in dirt!
Thats probably because the AR frame was not originally designed for a 16-24 inch bull barrel. 🙂
Rock River Arms because they guarantee accuracy and have many reasonably priced ARs.
Street Sweeper in 45-70 or 12ga. 😯
Actually a shotgun would be good for indoor protection would can load it to deal with various senarios, birdshot, buckshot, slugs…. a pump is good most the racking of the action alone would make most bad guys think twice.
If you empty the glocks and ak’s at them and they are still alive, you should just let them do whatever they want because you obviously can’t kill them. 😆
Serbu super shorty 12 guage all the way!!! 15″ of pure muzzle flash, noise, and chaos!!
yes, a good combat shotgun, Winchester Defender or similar.
The shot gun is the thing that i wood grab first.
My main reason for buying is to beef up my protection cache, I already own 2 Glocks, and 2 AK47’s with clips out the ass for the glocks, Is there another gun other than the AR that you would get first. :4
I use to have a 24″ full bullbarrel DPMS upper on an Olympic arms/SGW pre-ban lower w/ 52gr. B.H. ammo it was cake to shoot the waterfall on the Budweiser bottle at 300yds.
The Colt AR-15 HB w/ the freefloating handguard is a great shooter too.
look at DPMS Panther . Only way to go . but i do like the Rock river guns too.

Just to be clear, I wasn’t tryin’ to start one. 😉 I’ve never even shot an AR, much less owned one. That was just the results of a very unscientific mash of data based on numerous comments I’ve heard and read from others.
