Q:

Diver’s Silicon (silicone) ???

So I went to my local dive shop and purchased what I am told is diver’s silicon. It is a white paste looking material. The AF video with Tom shows him using a clear, thick looking syrupy stuff. Do I have the right stuff?

A friend of mine who dives says that swimming pool grease is the same stuff. Is he right? What do I use? I am not going to use this stuff untill I get the oK from you guys.

Thanks,as always.

I have been told and I saw it on a different site that dielectric grease (spark plug grease from auto stores) is the same as divers silicone grease. I bought some-ok no problems. I aslo got some divers silicone last week because I liked the container. The divers silicone is labeled ” food safe” which makes sense. Both appear to the be same consistency color etc.

Steve,

You bought an airgun…… not a night with a hooker 🙂 🙂

Gee, I love the internet. This is so awesome. Thank you for the help. When you spend over $500 on an air gun, you don’t want to screw it up with the wrong lube. you would think that what we pay for the AF products, thatthey would include a small tube of the proper lube. Oh well.

Thanks guys.

This container says, “silicone lube” (LP21), by the Trident company. Actually, now that I look at it, it does look clear. What do you think?

Thanks Adam, ans J3

That is exactly what I have. That is the right stuff.

The Silicone lube I have is made by Trident, LP21 and it looks like a clear vaseline.

mine is a white paste….says safe for oxygen use on side…don’t let it lay on it’s side it will seep through the cap threads…

Mine is clear and is 100% silicone lube.
