Q:

crossman CP pellets

where do you get yours from and what grain pellets in .22 cal shoot with the best performance? Do you like them over the Kodiaks?

The Kodiaks, being heavier, aren’t as badly affected by wind. I can get them out the 12 inch barrel of my Talon SS at about 730 to 740 fps.

The CPs are still my go-to pellet in the SS. They leave the barrel at about 850 to 860 fps.

I just chrono’d these last week so the numbers are still fresh in my mind.

Accuracy seems about the same with either, and both are the very best I’ve yet shot in my Airforce guns.

i like both…i use cp’s for plinking and light duty vermin control and the kodiaks are my favorite long range…I just took 2 crows one at 90 and the the other at 70 yds..Mine are being propelled at around 870 fps for a little over 35 ftlb’s.they rin a nice 5 shot hole at 30 yds ( 3/8″)

If your rifle shoots Jsb’s well, there is a very good chance that it will also shoot Predators well…..

Found this OLD pic…..

The stock TSS valve isn’t capable of shooting the 21g kodiaks at the speed they need to be leaving the barrel at. CPs 14.3 or JSBs 16g are the best bet for a 12″ barrel and the stock valve.

What about predators? They are about the same weight range and ungodly accurate for what they are.

Predators shoot awesome out of SS. Very accurate, lots of damage.

I talked to you about this and this is what I found with my set up. Kodiaks are spot on accurate and great but with the 12″ barrel they are loopy in there trajectory. I love them and have a few dozen tins. I shot CP out of the 12″ and they shot well but did I liked the punch of the Kodiaks better.

With the 16″ Polygon barrel I got from Anthony the CP’s shoot out of it like a laser and what converted me was being able to hit pine cones on the ground at 120 yds with ease. While the kodiaks did well also the flat trajectory of CP’s is almost ridiculous with only holding 2 mildots down at 100 yards on 6x.

I have the gun set up so if I put the cross hairs on the neck it will hit between the head and chest up to 70 yards. If I know the exact distance then head shot are the norm. We were whacking bird 70 yards away with head shots everytime.
