Q:

Crosman 1322

Finally finished my 1322.

Lighter valve spring, 10″ .22 barrel, Crosman Steel Breech, everything else is stock (I need to make another flat top adjustable piston, decided to put the one I had in my 2289).

I get 6 fpe with 10 pumps and 8 fpe with 20 pumps, No where near what other people get, I still need to do some other mods to the valve, but the adjustable piston is next just to see how much that helps on a nearly stock gun.

Used a 760 pump grip because its easier to pump than the skinny stock ones and just duracoated it in black, along with the rest of the gun.

Hey, 2fps is still 2fps.

8)

10 Pumps, CP .22

With Stock Piston – 433 fps

Metal non Adjustable Piston – 435 fps

Basically no difference. I bet if I was using 10+ pumps I’d see some difference as the extra pressure will likely distort the plastic piston, but I dont have a lighter valve spring in my 1322 so I cant test that today as the valve wouldnt dump more than 10 ish pumps.

Both pistons are the same length so this is kinda what I was expecting.

Was able to get a hold of a 760 metal piston from an old 760 that a guy I work with was scrapping and asked if I wanted (luckeee). Its a non adjustable version that uses the cup seal. Going to stick with the cup seal and am debating wether I’ll cut it in half and add a threaded rod to make it adjustable. Just going to try it as-is for the time being.

Will do some velocity testing tomorrow comparing the plastic with the steel piston.

I’m also going to swap the 10″ barrel on this with the 14″ barrel on my 2240 pistol. Will cut it down to round 12″ to give me something to mount a threaded adapter to. Going to shroud the 2289 and will mount a removable mod to this and add a shoulder stock to make it super short 3 peice break down carbine.

Thanks

I took the parts to a Chrome shop and they did it for me.
They do a lot of old car parts.
I have had it for 5 years and chrome still looks brand new.
Game will see me coming from a mile away.

WOW sluggo, thats some nice bling you got there. 😀

Nice pistols!

Here is one of mine.

Thats a nice one photo.

I dont have the cash for the real nice extra’s. My stuff usually has to be either cheap, or makable by myself so I try to stick to stock parts where I can. But I’d love a nice wooden stock on my 2289 like rob has two off hint hint 😉

As for what I see, you are doing a great job on keeping the price down and making them look great Ninja. 😀

I think I posted it before, but here is Joe’s site for the QB and 22xx PCP conversions……

The Steve Corcoran stocks… He stopped making them for a while and I panicked because I wanted one for my 13xx Carbine. He’s now making them again, but a bit more expensive than before.

Your is very clean. I have the MA1322.

No problem on the hijack rob. I’m interested in that aswell please.

That’s my thing: I’m sure that that MountainAir is a very sweet gun, and $410 is really not so much, but it’s the kind of price that puts it in competition with other guns that are a better option, imho. Oh, ironically, Walter Glover aka Voltar is well-known for making 2240s into pcps. 😆

Rob: does your friend have a website? If so, I’m sure that I’m not the only person who would like to take a peek.

Sorry for the Hijack, YN…. 1322 looks awesome. 8)

Tef…. 2240 PCP…..

I’m in contact with a guy who is in the testing phase of making bolt on conversions for the 2240 series guns…. Price will be much cheaper than anything currently out there and the numbers are awesome…. Stock 7 inch 2240 barrel…. 15 shots around the 600fps mark in .22.

Anyone interested, I can point you to a link.

I’m thinking of getting a 2240/50 and having it turned into a pcp, but don’t have a clue on the cost and am thinking that for the $ involved it might be easier to just get something off the shelf.
