Good thinking mate. I had a quick shot with it tonight, just with grub screw as per normal and it didnt fly off.. I will drill the core slightly to give a little more bite for the grub screw, and try for stainless ones. Thanks for all the help mate !

One thing though the baffles didnt seem to make much of a differece from just a straight hollow tube, do you find it makes a difference?

if your baffle material is too thick or you try to fit too many, you eat up valuable airspace, diminishing effectiveness. there is a balance to be had between number of baffles, spacing, and thickness (volume taken away from the internal volume of the plain tube) when you get it right, it is much quieter than a tube alone.

In place of the origonal front grub screw i use stainless or hardend M5x.8 grubs. I drill part way in to the core and it acts more as a “dowel” than a friction against the sides type thing.
You can just see i think in the first of the photo’s of the 2 black ones.
Hope this helps, Sean.

Hey sean how do you get the shroud to stay on the gun during firing? I have tried making internal baffles for my shroud but allways find the damm thing flies off or starts streching the grub screws???

Do Baffles make alot of dfference?

OH YES I AM SO HAPPY TO SAY THAT THE BOTTOM CORE BELONGS TO ME, I HAVE NOT RECEIVED IT YET BUT WHEN I DO YOU CAN EXPECT A FULL REVIEW AND I PLAN ON TAKING IT TO MY RECORDING STUDIO AND RECORDING THE SOUND AND POSTING IT HEAR FOR ALL TO HEAR. AGAIN I SAY THANK YOU BLODNOB FOR MY LDC I AM VERY GREATFULL.

Update?

Update?

I know those have got to be mega-quiet. The one I built only has 3 chambers drilled in it and its like shooting a broken gun. Almost no noise at all.

Did a quick test fit and dry fired the talon with a standard tank, all you hear is a whoosh sound and the slap of hammer and tank ping. Works very well indeed.

Good to hear, or not hear that is. 8)
It will be quieter with a pellet passing through it.

I received mine, the larger of the two cores.

Just for kicks I tried the micro tank , just hammer slap 😀

This is a well made unit, and Sean is pleasure to deal with.

That is a very cool design, I hope to make one like that someday.

So anyone in CA try to get one yet? I would imagine that it would have to be shipped in different boxes to not arise suspicions? I would love to order one for my talon but am worried it would never show up due to customs. But hey it it will I am in they look amazing.

WHAT? LOL.

I was wondering if you were still around Mike. I already know what that shroud is going to sound like, that design is pretty efficient.

You will probably have to shoot a few times to convince yourself the gun is working.

Hey whats up RiffRaff, I’ve been a little busy with my music but I’m on the site everyday, how could I leave family……. I also can’t wait to receive it and I’m sure your right about how efficient this design is. 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀
