Condor valve on stock ss
What would happen if I put a condor high flow valve on a stock talon ss with 12 inch barrel? what kind of velocity increases would I see?

Yeah, there’s a thing called fpe. π

Biken, check your email.
I will help you out with pricing as much as I can.

My math is not wrong. Chairgun2 is wrong! I used Mathematica and it does not lie.
Well anyway, But back to my original question. Should I do it, and HOW MANY SHOTS will it get? Or do I need to try it and tell you guys that lol π
According to chairgun2 you will have a 92″(7.7 ft) drop with a JSB at 800fps. And at 1000 fps about a 5′ drop.
You need to check your math
I have done the math and shooting JSB’s at 800 fps will have a 4 ft drop at 150 yards and hit at 470 fps and 8 fpe. Shooting them at 1000 fps will have a little less than two feet of drop and hit at 600 fps and 12 fpe.
150 yd shot require more experience then anything else. Even a CP 14.3gr pellet at 1000fps is going to drop 7ft at that distance.
Do you have Chair Gun 2. If not you need to download it
Yes I know that, but I was trying some 150 yards shots, and the pellet must have been dropping at least 8-10 feet, Mil-Dots don’t help with that either . I did manage to hit a gatorade bottle 5 times out of 50 though! I am not trying to get one hole groups, I am perfectly fine with the accuracy as it is, up to 60 yards or so. I do have a problem with the pellet dropping that much though, basically, I need a flatter trajectory.
The reason I can’t do a barrel right now is because my airgun bank is almost spent, and my dad won’t pay for my toys anymore.
Does anyone have any experience with a condor valve on a stock SS? I am looking to get about 950 + fps with JSB’s, would that be possible?
I emailed Tony to see what he could conjure up, maybe he will come up with a something I’m looking for. Thanks a lot.
.
Yes that is possible. But remember there is more to airgun shooting then velocity.
Well, I would like to bring this up again.

Maybe a custom barrel length would suit your purpose. a 16″ bbl should only require about a 4″ shroud extending beyond the current frame length and combined with a tuned talon valve should get you where you want to be powerwise without changing OAL too much and keeping good shot count.
For backpacking/easy takedown I found a 10-32 setscrew with a 5/8dia derlin/black plastic knob at the local ACE to replace the original endcap grubscrew. I can now remove and install my shroud in just seconds to put in a case or travel with no tools necessary. Cost about .69.

Hey looks like a great choice and wish you luck. Have seen a lot of great stuff on the new valve β Expect you may have seen some if it. Look at the condor topic as an example. I have the old valve with my rig mod. More than enough power for most of my needs. Few shots less not a big deal for me. That said I usuall shoot the SS. Great utility. Will be doin more condor work next month.
There are so many ways one can go β
Wish you luck and have a lot of fun β π

I think I’m going to go with the condor high flow valve to start with. Then, when I muster up the money, I will send it to Tony and get a full tune, 18 inch barrel, and a shroud. Anybody want to buy an xbox 360? 8) Seriously.
Boy, this could get involved. You seem to be on top of things regarding what you want in configuration and energy at distance. Some of the βpelletsβ have different ballistic coefficients so thatβs worth further review. As you go to bullet shapes the energy carries further.
A thought of course would be sacrifice a few high power shots with a condor valve and save the weight and bulk. Seems like the least costly route. The new valve is pretty nice.
Course if you want more shots there is the moded SS and of course a spare tank of your choice:?:
It sure does help. My main problem is I want to be able to do 100 yard head shots on crows, and at that distance the pellet is only going around 500 fps. That would be plenty if I could actually hit its head at 100 yards, but with my skill and a stock SS, it ain’t going to happen. My next problem is that I need to be able to fit my gun in a backpack, which at the moment is just barely possible, and after I add an 18 inch barrel and shroud, forget it. However, if Tony could make me a quick detach shroud that required no tools, I would be set, but I don’t want to think about how much that would cost me.

Hmmm, 1450 fps shooting an 8″ 80 yard group or 1000 fps shooting 1″ 50 yard groups…Hmmm. I’ll take the tight group, thanks!
