Q:

Condor valve limits?

The Condor valve in a .177 is complete overkill and even .22 doesn’t really stretch its legs too much which is why everyone is having such great success with going up to .25 caliber. As people have said “the Condor is made for .25”. Now, what are the limits of the Condor valve beyond that though? I mean, can the valve comfortably handle a 9mm barrel shooting 70 Grain Buck? Likewise, what is the heaviest that the valve can really push before not having enough puff?

Stock (Original type) Condor valve with no mods a 24″ .308 barrel gave me 104 fpe / 820ish fps with 69gr sabot’s.

No, Harry. What I am wondering is how big a caliber and heavy a pellet/bullet the stock Condor Valve can handle, be that with an upgraded Hammer, polished etc, but still the stock valve parts. Obviously it could fire a 300 Grain bullet if need be, but not at a practical or useful level, so that is what I am wondering; could the stock valve fire say a 70 Grain Buckshot with enough velocity, etc. The reason why I ask is the same reason that you said: that .22 is just too small a caliber to really let the Condor shine, and even Dae Sungs in .25 can be pushed beyond what is useful.

Tron,

Are you asking what happens FPS & FPE wise when someone swaps out there .22 barrel and drops in a .25 barrel employing the new valve? Assuming that the gun is in it’s stock configuration ONLY? My stock .22 Condor has the new valve and it is an absolute powerhouse. I have been shooting the domed EJ’s and absolutely love them. They hit with such authority it blows my mind.

Harry

Excellent question. With the new condor valve we need some input as to what its maximum abilities are.

I am not a big bore fan so I have no clue.

Anyone?
