Q:

Condor Power Wheel

Good Morning Gents,
Have a problem. I removed my barrel from the condor. Upon putting it back together the power wheel tiny screw broke I got it out now the hole is a tiny bit bigger. I tried another slightly larger screw, but it wont bite and it’s rubbing on the frame. Question, am I screwed . I can’t figure how this screw holds in? I now have no adjustment stuck on low power setting. Not a huge deal ,but I do like cranking it up to high power. Do I need a new wheel. Why is this thing made out of plastic? I would love to hear what you think I should do to fix this. Does anyone have an extra wheel? Thanks Kip

sans cosmetics, you could use any skinny tool(your weenie, maybe? 😆 😉 ) to keep the assembly from turning and turn the PW as per usual…i dont know why AF cant upgrade to even cheap metal, does anybody make an aftermarket PW assembly?

This has been posted several times in the past and my plastic allen head stripped out on the head where the allen wrench fits! I don’t know if Airforce used different allen heads from time to time but mine was a 3/48 some argued with me about it so I checked it with a magnifyn glass and a mic and thread guage, and it was definetly a 3/48 some have posted 4/40 it is a hard bolt to check but the diameter will be the first thing to check! I was a machinist for 38 years so I do know about threads and bolt sizes! But like I said maybe some have a 4/40 if alot of people have had trouble with the 3/48 I am guessing it could be Airforce thought bigger plastic is better?? I don’t know just thought I would share this with you guys! my gun is probably a couple years old and this could be what has happened! Also a set screw can be used that way the bigger head of say a 6/32 wouldn’t be a problem with a set screw, all it is anyway is a pointer! You could also use a 6/32 and turn the o.d of the allen head down to fit better 😯

Thanks for the ideas and good info, I wii give it a try. Thanks

Kipp-

1) go to the hardware store and buy a 4-40 socket head cap screw, tap and correct drill (the people ther should be able to help)

2) turn your wheel 45 deg or so till you no longer see the old hole and drill and tap a new one

3) install the screw and enjoy

Greg

It uses a 4-40 screw. Maybe try drilling and tapping for slightly bigger like 6-40 or 6-48, but the head will stick out.
